The teachers, staff and administration of TMI are wonderful! They truly care about the students in their charge, and go above and beyond to support the students and their families.

This school is amazing. We love the Staff, especially the Fine Arts Department. The choir director is amazing. I have had 2 kids go through the choir program. They treat them with respect and maturity. They prepared both my children to move on ,excell and compete at a higher level. They realize they aren't small children anymore and treat them as young men and women. I love that all of the extra programs Show choir, Choir, Band and theater, teach the children to perform at a standard that prepares them for middle and high school.

Very good school. Bilingual program teachers are excellent and the administration as well. My son is very happy at school.

Tried before to post this review, the site removed it for some unknown reason. It was timely, respectful and factual. Inclined to believe that it was due to the fact the review was negative. In short, totally disappointed with TMI's fine arts programs. This is a school for 5/6th graders yet when a child expresses a desire to be a part of one of the programs, as my daughter did with Show Choir, since she is not already Broadway material she does not make it! The Choir Director told me it was not because of her singing, as she has a lovely singing voice but because she struggled with dancing+singing at the same time. She is not a professional dancer by any means, she is a gangly 10 yr old that is all arms+legs . You would think that was where the instruction comes into play. Kids interested in band have a chance to start from ground zero and learn, why not show choir? In my opinion, KISD is only interested in winning trophies not nurturing/encouraging their students artistic sides. When I told my daughter she did not make it, after she cried for half an hour, she told me she was never trying out for another school activity again. KISD should re-evaluate its priorities.
