In general, it's a good school. The community is on the typical religious spectrum and there were some instances where other kids were talking religion to my kids (my kids are secular humanists) saying things like, "YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN JESUS? YOU WON'T GO TO HEAVEN!" but that's less about the school and more about living in the Bible belt. I wish the teachers would step in and teach about differences in opinions and world view more often. There were some find raisers, but I felt like they got less salesy over the years. The thing that annoyed our family the most was the barrage of "dress up" days. I understand the point of them is to make school "fun", but my kids actually liked going to elementary school and didn't need them. It was just a distraction, and a nuisance for us to have to come up with an outfit to match the themes, sometimes multiple days in a row in a single week. All in all, Kay Granger is a good school, and could be even better with some minor adjustments to culture.

The school does not deserve one single star. Teachers are very discriminating against quite kids. They will not let them participate in activities even if your child is willing to do so. They cater the ones that are more outspoken. If your child is quite he or she will be pushed to the side. If you complain, make for sure you will be looked down and your child as well.

We love our school and we are proud to go there. In regards to the "mediocre" comment, I wholeheartedly DISAGREE. The "dress up" days are to promote kindness and unity. My kids have never felt pressured, they just want to be part of a larger message. They are in elementary school and having some creativity and fun (heaven forbid) is completely developmentally appropriate. They spend the majority of their day in school, so why not have a healthy balance? The school does prepare the students academically. If you look at the district comparisons online, Granger is always in the top 2 testing categories. Again, our experience, while completely different from the select negative few, is far above mediocre and superficial. Generally, these types of websites are often skewed, and are filled with the negatives. If you polled the majority of students and parents, I believe the results would overwhelmingly favor and support the school. It's unfortunate if those few had a different experience, but our family will shout from the rooftops that "We love Granger!"

It is a family school where all kids are welcomed and celebrated. The scores show that student progress is only a 6. Both of my kids have dedicated teachers and we have seen growth this year already. My kids loved unique week. Each of my kids had a special day - Dyslexia and ADHD. There's no where else I'd rather send my kids. They are loved and they are thriving!

The whole "good character" banner that stretches across the front of the school is a joke. While the kids can spout off how to show good character, many of the adults in the building (which is passed on to the students) have a hard time modeling this in their actions.

We moved to McPherson Ranch community and my daughter has already started to adore her new school. On her first day the staff walked us to her new classroom and they made sure all our queries are answered . This school does stand apart by managing the heavy population and still maintaining its rank.

Granger is the best school a parent could ask their child to go to. It teaches them not only about math, social studies, etc. but teaches children how to have great character, and in todays world that is very important. The entire staff is top rate, and are the best around, we are more than lucky to be Wranglers.

Kay Granger is a great elementary environment. There is a very real sense of community at our school. Not only to staff & teachers care about our children, they care about the kind of citizens they will become as they move into the world. Personal responsibility is emphasized and striving for excellence is part of our motto. I've seen many teachers go above and beyond in support of their students' progress. No school is perfect but for a school of our size to maintain such high standards and keep a feeling of warmth and welcoming is quite an accomplishment.

KAY GRANGER. I GIVE THIS SCHOOL A 5 STAR RATING. THIS IS A SCHOOL THAT IS 100% DEVOITED TO THE STUDENTS. ALONG WITH THEIR ABOVE AVERAGE TEACHING SKILLS THE ART AND MUSIC PROGRAMS ARE OUT STANDING. WATCHING MY GRANDDAUGHTER'S EXCITMENT EACH DAY TO GO TO SCHOO, FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS, SAYS ALOT ABOUT HER SCHOOL,TEACHERS AND STAFF.

Granger staff and teachers create a great learning environment for my children. It is a large school but feels like a small community. The school is welcoming to parents and I feel my questions and concerns are always heard and addressed. We feel at home at Granger Elementary!

I think Granger is amazing!!!! What is there not to love? This school has the most dedicated teachers, staff, and principal. The teachers are the best that you can get. I have loved all of my daughter's teachers. They have been so supportive and helped her grow each year. Because they build lasting relationships, we have to get to school early every morning so she can "make the rounds" and say hi to all of them! The principal is incredible. One of the things my husband and I love about her is her support of all the activities. She is at every function on and off campus cheering the students on! The principal and teachers strive to set examples of good character traits, and it's working because Granger is the National School of Character! Granger gives students many opportunities to learn how to help out their communities through charitable events. This is just a few examples of this extraordinary school.
