This was my daughters first year in kindergarten and it has been terrific! Her teacher Mrs. Jaquess is amazing with her and all the children. My daughter can be a strong willed child, but she loves going to school and has grown so much this year! The principal is at every school event and the kids all love to run over and give him a high five. My daughter thinks he is pretty awesome! All of her cocur teachers have worked hard to keep the kids in gaged, with a SOAR attitude. I am truly grateful for the staff and community of Freedom Elementary.

The reporting through this website is grossly inaccurate. First, the student to teacher ratio is WAY OFF. The 21-22 school year is more like 22:1. The way this school treated children and parents during covid was cold and offensive. They're handling made kids hate school, which is so sad.My older child attended a different elementary (KISD) and it was radically different from every aspect. The main focus being the EDUCATION. The Principal is seemingly unconcerned too. This isn't a one-off, this is years of confirmation that Freedom lacks a staff that genuinely cares about education. They're more concerned with being political correct and "inclusion" that they neglect actually teaching children the basic fundamentals: reading / writing, for example.

My daughter started at Freedom last school year 20-21. The school made it a great kindergarten year for her and all the other students even with all the restrictions in place because of covid! My daughter loved her teacher last and so did I! The teacher went above and beyond for her students and was On top of communication each day along with the principal I never felt out of the loop. My daughter enjoyed the teachers in her Co-Curr classes. My daughter also does speech at the school and loved her speech pathologist. I can’t wait to see what this new school year has to offer it’s already starting out to help great.

Awful. I’m not sure if the administration is over working the teachers or the teachers are lazy or both. There is no real action against bullying and not very much follow through on 504 plans. My child’s self esteem has plummeted since going to this school . The worst school we have ever been too. I have talked to other parents with similar issues and concerns who have also voiced but still nothing really seems to get done here. Do not recommend this school.

HORRID! Surprised a school like this hasn’t had More complaints. Front office Administration needs to have a make over, especially the principal. It’s sad that for such a great ISD, this is the worst school in the district.

The school is clean & safe, which are huge, but academically, very much behind. Kids are held back to the 'curriculum' (& slowest students) which is behind nearby school districts in math & science. Gifted is used as a community outreach indoctrination. PE only happens ~2 times a week and rarely involves real physical activity. The one recess the students get is canceled if it is 'too hot/cold'. Nice people, nice place, completely sub par education. Not certain if it is the ISD or the principal but pretty sure it is both.

We have recently moved from NYC and if I can only describe how thankful we are to the entire office for being so helpful and welcoming to us that first week!! They actually told me to call them if I had any kinds of questions and I did and they are always so eager to help with everything! Now, we cannot even begin to compare Freedom to our kids' elementary school in NY. Freedom elementary is so clean and so convenient (perfect size sinks and water fountains etc. etc.) and lessons are taught in such a wonderful manner where kids are loving the learning process!! Walking down the halls of the school and seeing teachers smiling is truly amazing and priceless to us! We see the principal so many times in the morning greeting kids or at dismissal and we feel we are always welcomed and have access to speak to her or to our teacher any time we want to. All teachers are so helpful and always polite and friendly. Our teacher's manner of communication is extremely easy and so important for us. We have plenty of clubs or extra activities to chose from. We are so happy we moved and so happy that our younger son gets to attend Freedom!

Very unhappy. The administration doesn't support the teaching staff, and overloads the classrooms with children who suffer from behavioral disorders. There's no one on one teaching, even with the minimal class sizes, and kids are academically grouped together, which leaves many kids behind. Hopefully the new vice principal won't be so quick to fly off the handle at children, like the last one

This is our 3rd school in 3 years. My kids have never been happier. Their teachers care about academics as well as social issues. My fellow parents are easy to approach and quick to solve issues. The co-curr teachers are excellent. The librarian is possibly my favorite ever, and I'm a library dork. The main office lady, Lynn, is grumpy pretty consistently, but I won't hold one person against the whole school's rating. The nurse is excellent. The cafeteria staff is helpful and friendly.
