The school doesn't teach students anything. All this school cares about is money. If you are tardy for more than 5 minutes after a 6 month period. You get after school detention. With the recent news about banning phones, it gets rid of the security students have, and the only freedom that they get. This school treats the students like prisoners, teachers don't want to teach, and most teachers don't even care about a 504. Despite it being a law. Overall this school just doesn't care about it's students, but claims they do.

Having had 2 children go through the system within the last 21 years, I feel I can adequately sum up what Keller HS is about. If you’re white, affluent, Christian, and straight, you will be a prized possession. My oldest went through having had no issues. No bullying, harassment, etc. But my oldest also would never in a million years enter the school again. The racism, bigotry, and misogyny present in the student body and the staff is gross. If you’re a star player in sports/choir/etc., any unbecoming behavior is ignored. My child reported lots of drug use and was ignored and we also knew of a sexual assault that was just overlooked all because of the status of the students involved within the extracurricular program. If you’re a favorite, you’re good. Nothing special has to be done. You don’t have to work for much. The teachers do not care about the students. They care about their reputation. If it takes ignoring kids’ cries for help, so be it. Front office staff is rude. If you’re not up to speed on all the classes your kiddo needs for a certain line of work, you’re easily lost in the shuffle. Parents are rude. Holier than thou. Not to mention they still have an INDIAN as a mascot and have kids in headdresses on the field/floor during sport games. Get real. Just do your research. Look at who is giving this school high ratings. The dress code is purely directed at the female student body. Because boys can’t control themselves. Gross. Just find a kinder, safer, more accepting environment for your child. This school is way overrated.

Excellent academics with superb extracurriculars. The only high school that is in the city of Keller proper and not in Ft. Worth (KISD is large serving multiple neighboring towns with 4 different high schools). The large school population allows for plenty of world class extracurriculars (arts, sports, academic teams) that regularly compete in State and National competitions. Many offerings allow for your student to find their “people”. Although certainly well off, I’ve heard it called “The Goldilocks School” because it has a socioeconomic balance that enriches the school experience and doesn’t skew too far one way or the other which can create echo chamber/bubble issues. A more diverse/less homogeneous school than a neighboring area which leads to rewarding experiences, friendships, and rich academic/club offerings. A lot of school spirit too.

Three children, two principles, one terrible counselor, a reconstruction project, six tax increases, a pandemic in progress later… and I can’t wait for my last child to graduate. The previous principle had a better understanding of responsibility, professionalism, and genuinely seemed to care for the students. However we all have families, and Houston pays better, so he left. Leadership left the building, nepotism is now the new norm, it seems that most of the teachers are married couples, with spoiled children at the school, and the principle cares more about politics than caring for the staff/students under her charge. She embraces GA-38, instead of pretending to try, which creates a toxic environment for those with disabilities, or weakened immune systems. Education by most is taught via cellphone, without books, unless you count a Chrome book. Almost all of the students cheat, talk down to the teachers without repercussions, and the principle dodges at every opportunity in order to avoid responsibility. There are a couple really good teachers, Lynch, Vogel, Swan, a few in the art department, and I believe one over caring man who loves Spongbob. Other than that, most will spend lecture time discussing politics, religion, their children, dogs, divorces, staff gossip (apparently the previous principle was sexist), while others like to make students cry for disrespecting the flag by wearing a backpack while saying the pledge of allegiance. The band teachers are worse than the football coaches, and apparently restrooms are a privilege. Also, AP classes are mostly taught by Coaches, people without any advanced education. Not to mention one of the coolest courses Forensic Science is taught by a man that literally tells the students he’s not interested in their questions, figure out how to find the answer, and get it done. They promote cheating in order to avoid educating. The positive ratings are in my opinion only because they like that their children get grades they don’t deserve, get into colleges they don’t deserve to get into, and they can pay themselves on the back and believe they are good parents. These kids woulda last a week in a northern school.

Excellent. My children's experience at Keller High is not perfect, but it is a school with a lot of opportunity and excellent instruction overall.

Mediocre, at best. There is alot of nepitism in sports programs, and many of the clubs are just there so people can earn a cord for graduation. Advanced academics (AP Classes) are okay, but not really available as early as in many surrounding districts.

Poor, lacking innovation, hands on research projects, drugs and vaping are out of control and the bathrooms are beyond filthy.

Keller High School overall is a very challenging school academically. There are plenty of very bright students here that do not take for granted the community and school that has given them the opportunity to succeed. Rather, there is an interesting dichotomy within both the students and the staff. As stated, there are very bright students here. On the other hand, there are students that get caught up in the wrong crowd and engulf themselves in a life of drugs. Sadly, Keller High administrators have done little to close this gap. I think stronger counseling that pushes students at the bottom academically and through extracurriculars is needed to close this gap.The same goes for teachers. On one hand, I have had some of the best teachers that have greatly impacted my view on certain subjects for the better. On the other hand, I have had teachers that have completely tainted my desire for others. The teachers here are a big gamble, especially if you decide to take on-level classes, which are more likely taught by newer/inexperienced teachers. Certain teachers are notorious and you will quickly hear from others whether a certain teacher is good or bad.Going into my senior year, I have had an overall wonderful experience. I think Keller High school's challenging nature will help me well into the future. I do think most of the school's issues come from administrative ineffectiveness. Both the gap in student attitudes/achievements and teacher performance could be solved if the administrators studied both groups effectively and more often.

I am not “wowed” by this school for the most part due to communication, follow through, and accountability of staff to parents. I leave messages after messages and rarely get a return phone call in any timely fashion.

In the 2016-2017 school year I was a freshman. I had gone to private Catholic school all my life and so I was terrified of going to a large public school. Being a freshman is hard enough anyway, but being one with no friends who has social anxiety has been terrible. I have made a couple of friends who are my support system, but we only share one class together. It was difficult to make any friends, because everyone already had their own groups and weren't going to let anyone in. It's very hard to make friends at Keller. Even if they don't say it outright, all the students judge each other harshly. Even though no one has said it to my face, I can tell their judging me for my religion. Socially, there is a lot of name calling and shaming of the students. Girls are especially susceptible to this. The amount of drugs at the school is incredibly surprising given how good of a school it's supposed to be. Academically it's no better. As I've said before, many teachers are coaches. They care more about their sport than their classes. They barely teach and pile on the homework. I don't get enough sleep each night because I'm up until midnight doing homework. The teachers have so many students it's hard for them to work one on one with a student to help them improve. If you do a sport or fine art, it rules your life. You have no free time, all of it is taken up with practices and homework. The stress and anxiety levels are through the roof. Often the amount of homework given doesn't help at all. I've found that the more homework is given across the board the worse your grades get. I have three years left at Keller and I can't wait for them to end.

I started attending Keller High School at the beginning of my sophomore year in 2014. I'm a senior now. I honestly thought my experiences at KHS were going to get better with time, but they haven't. Recently, the school underwent construction for updating and remodeling. It's a beautiful school and I'm very impressed with the changes, but the atmosphere of the school created by the students and teachers makes being at school every day very uncomfortable and unsettling. Growing up, I switched schools often and I can say, I've never been to such a divided school before. The students tend to be excessively judgmental and they aren't very accepting at all of newcomers. Although it is my third year attending, it has still been extremely difficult to connect with other students and make new friends. It seems like the only way to connect with other students is to take part in the use of drugs. Over these past 3 years, I have noticed a rapid increase of drug use within the school. It's mostly popular among the younger students. With some groups of students, drugs will be all that they talk about. That's a major problem that needs to be addressed. Most of the teachers aren't very friendly either, but I think that's just a product of KHS being a very large school. I have to say that I'm glad to finally be graduating and leaving Keller High School this year.

The teachers at this school are very traditional, (not all, of course) but not in the way that may be seen as "good." Their methods of teaching are mostly lazy, handing out homework and only focusing on memorization instead of learning. The atmosphere for new students isn't welcoming at all either. Any events held only seem to be a boast-fest of students and teachers showing off why KHS is the best, and not in the way you may be thinking such as a sort of patriotism for the school, but rather just bragging. They don't mention how the education system can help the students reach the goals they're passionate about and how it can benefit them, but rather how it can benefit the school. In all, the school's education system isn't up to date, but the school's extracurricular activities seem to be doing well. (When I mention the teachers, I am talking about a select few I know and have experience with)

My three kids love this school. They are in the AP and pre-AP classes, sports, and art. Highly recommend this school for anyone looking for a great education in a great community.

As a student, my self-esteem, confidence, and overall emotional disposition has plummeted since attending. I feel like a decent bunch of teachers and the majority of the administration are unapproachable. Another HUGE issue I have is with the fact that ALL of my academic teachers are also COACHES. Their priority is obviously on their coaching rather than academics. Frankly, they don't really even teach. However, they have absolutely piling on a ridiculous amount of homework. I feel like they forget that we do in fact have other classes. They're not the only ones handing out assignments and giving us test dates. Their attention is elsewhere. I feel panicked, stressed, and unprepared for tests and other significant happenings due to this. I wish I could leave the school. I am extremely displeased.

This school is ok. The big problem with me is the teachers. There seems to be a big difference in grades just by the teachers that the students have which is very sad. The teachers' way of teaching and their attitude can be either very encouraging or make the kids cry because it affects their grades and attitude towards the subject Also, as a busy students the tutorials do not help and I cannot attend them. I had a very bad biology teacher my freshman year and that ruined my attitude towards biology and my thoughts about teachers. Overall, the school is very nice and organized. The school tries hard to provide the best for the students. But the teachers are a huge issue. I would have never had thought that a teacher could make me cry because I could not have possibly have done anything about it. You can only change your teacher if you change from may ap or pre ap to a lower class which is not what most students want to do. I had a pre ap biology teacher that had no textbook ( she gave us an online textbook from the discovery channel that did not help us), no materials on her web page, no website, no nothing. simply just powerpoints, labs without really giving instructions, and notes that we took in class over the powerpoints. So we had almost no material and her excuse was that she was getting us ready for college....which was stupid.... A lot of parents emailed complaints to her which still did nothing to benefit the students. My mom hated this teacher and asked me what her deal was. Anyway, all the kids dread for some teachers and some scream of joy for others at the beginning of the year. It is depressing and stressful. The teachers are either just bad at teaching or good at teaching or the teachers are just mean. Either way, the school does not do something about it, even though I am pretty sure that they get calls from parents and that the students are unhappy. This overall problem stresses the students and the parents and this really dictates the students grades. Nonetheless, the school is great with many clubs, sports, and other organization, especially the band! This year the band is going to grand national championships~ and many other sports teams and fine arts organizations are doing great!
