By far best decision we made was moving to this district, they make you feel so involved as a parent our children excelled here more than our previous district. Our daughter was so happy with the teacher and staff. Definitely recommend.

This is the worst school our child has attended, from academics to discipline it is not worthed to buy such expensive house in the neigborhood with such horrible school to go.

The principal is bringing the school down unfortunately. Stanley started as a great school until another principal took over. Many teachers are leaving . Which is very alarming. 2015/16 school year ended with 23-25 teachers are leaving. It is very alarming. I wish KISD would look into this issue, which is the principal and also assistant principals. I am very sad because it started out to be a great school.

We learned this year that Stanley employs instructional coaches for the teachers. They manage the overall process and systems. Their input on our child's progress is another reason we are astounded by and in love with this school! We have been incredibly impressed with the dedication to open communications, timely updates on progress, and focused programs.. The library and facilities are fabulous. We have not experienced issues due to overcrowding. The monitoring and testing performed at the school gives great guidance regarding our child's progress and challenges. This is an incredibly competitive school system. Therefore, many kids entering went to preschool full day for years before entering. Therefore, if your child does not know many sight words before entering, that will rule your life for months.

We love this school. We just came to Katy almost 2 years ago and the teachers and staff in Stanley always have been very kind and lovely. My daughters didn't speak English when they started in this school and they have had all the support and stimulate that they need to learn. Now, they speak English perfectly and their grades are amazing.

Stanley is a fantastic school with a wonderful teaching and support staff. Even with its size, my son received personal attention from all his teachers. Having moved from out of state, I was impressed with the curriculum and feel Katy ISD has done a great job of challenging the students to learn to their potential. We're moving on to Junior High this year but I believe my son is well prepared thanks to his time at Stanley Elementary. Go Stampede!

moved here from Middle East. Super happy with Stanley! Next year 2 more schools will help with over-crowding- Stanley is a great school!

I am about to sell my house to get out of this school zone. I went to Meet the Teacher night, and based on that along with other pretty ridiculous interactions with the staff, I have decided to withdraw my child and find an alternative to kindergarten here this year.

We were able to attend this school for two years until we were zoned to a new school. We loved our Stanley experience, even with the temporary overcrowding. We value a large school system as it allows for so many extra curricular activities, groups, clubs, and special touches. These large schools can be an absolute bonus for many reasons. Most children can flourish without having to worry about being in a small clique, there is also such a tight nit community within the school. No school is perfect, but I would be hard pressed to find a better one. We are now zoned to Shafer and we love it as much as we did Stanley, I believe you cannot go wrong in this community. We also thought it was too large at first, but had a complete change of heart after seeing the other side of the positives to a large school. And the bottom line was my kiddo was happy there. I don't think its for everyone, but what is.

I love Stanley ! We have been there since the day it opened it's doors. The teachers are professional and seem to really love their jobs. The school was overcrowded but things are better now since the new school opened to relieve it. My kids are learning at an incredible rate and come home happy everyday. The PTA is very active and it seems as though there is nothing the parents won't do for the kids of this school. If I could change one thing about the school it would be to let the kids talk to each other while they are at lunch or just waiting to be picked up. I don't see why they can't use whisper voices. Being Social is an important skill to learn and the kids rarely get that chance.

Great school! There are alot of kids there, 1500 last time I was told. But, my son has challenging work, and an involved teacher. They do get the kids around the school with great efficiency.

Our experience with Stanley has been wonderful. Our children came to us with special needs and everyone from the principals to the class room aides have taken special interest in and provided extra opportunities, including before school programs and one-on-one teaching to bring both them up to where they need to be. We are very happy with Stanley.

This school is miserably overcrowded. I can't believe that 1500 children crammed in an elementary school designed for 800 can get a quality education or experience.

Tomorrow is the end of the second week since 2011-12 school year started and all I have to say is WOW! The principal and her great staff controlled the situation (overcrowded situation) more than well. They switch the way the car liners enter to school today...great decision! no more traffic on the Fry Rd @ Cinco Terrace intersection. I hope we stay next year in SSE, since KISD will be opening another elementary close to Stanley. My kids are more than happy at SSE!!! (:

This is the second year my children have gone to Stanley, and I have to say I am more than happy with this school. Yes, they are crowded, as are all schools in this area, but considering how crowded they are, everything is handled fantastically. My children are happy going to school, and I am happy with how much they are learning. My daughter started kindergarten not able to read, and was reading anything and everything she could get her hands on by summer. I was also concerned about the no talking rule, but once I went and had lunch with my children I understand why it is done, it is the only way to make sure our children get at least 10 minutes to eat before the socializing takes over, not to mention the noise can be deafening. I say, good job to the principal and staff of Stanley, you are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

I am surprised at some of the comments about this school. I have never talked to a parent who has positive things to say about Stanley Elementary. I hear lots of complaints about the school principal and how the school is run. My kids don't like it there. Look up Mayde Creek Elementary on this site and read the comments from parents about the principal from 3+ years ago. Their complaints are about the current principal at Stanley.

The school from an academic standpoint is great. The teachers are wonderful and have great strategies. However, I was very disappointed in how the principal runs the school. The kids aren't "allowed " to speak at ALL in the morning before school (even in whisper voices) while waiting in cafeteria for bell to ring or AFTER school is let out and they are waiting in pick up line for parents (it could be up to 30 mins or more). In the pick-up line you constantly hear "its silent pick- up no talking children" over the outside PA system. Also, the first 10 minutes of the 20 minute lunch the kids aren't allowed to talk either. That only leaves the 15-20 minutes at recess for the kids not to be learning & get to socialize with friends. I am 100% for rules and regulations. However, before, after school, & lunch kids still should have the opportunity to be kids.

Schools in Cinco Ranch are ridiculously overcrowded. Stanley will start the 2011-2012 school year with nearly 1300 students - way over capacity. Even with 3 new elementary schools opening the following year, they can't keep up with the explosive growth. Lots of apartments going up as well. My child went to Stanley for two years and we liked it, but it's just too crowded. Put our house on the market and sold it in less than a week.

This school is fantastic. The parent involvment at this school makes all the difference and the Watch Dogs program is a great example of how parent involvment can make all the difference. Teachers are excellent and most of all the children's needs are met and the results are outstanding. Beats most private schools by a mile!!! Well done everyone.

Great school!! Lots of controlled parent involvement. PTA is financially strong. If you have an issue, it is addressed.
