Definitely lacking resources and support especially with the special needs classrooms. Don't get me wrong some of the teachers in general ed were great since I had kids in both but this school needs a lot of work. I felt that the special needs classrooms weren't included enough and one of the issues was because of the teacher not wanting to give things a try. Administration not trying enough for our children that need extra support and that goes hand on hand with the lack of support from the county as well. An instance where my son fell and hit his head and I was never given a call "because I didn't have your phone number". There were occasions were I felt my son was being discriminated because of his disability and wasn't given a fair chance at trying new things such as the bookfair or playground. We left the school when we had the chance and my son is now thriving at his new school in a new county.

My son loves this school. One thing I do love is how my child is never hungry when he comes home, which was completely the opposite of his last school. Teachers seem very happy and my son gets along with his classmates. He’s learned a lot at this school.

The principal is fighting a battle he cant win. He has many hopes and dreams for callaway but it will not happen with the staff that he has. From the asst. Principal, teachers and office staff is incompetent. They are unorganized they lose important paper work, money, even transportation request . They record keeping is horrible ive recieved phone calls saying my child is absent i panic call the school to inform them she should be there .once they confirm she is there the reply is oh sorry mom. Sorry mom we ddint put her on the bus, sorry mom the bus hasnt arrived yet an hour late and we dont know where it it is tryna reach the driver still ,sorry mom we lost your dr. Notes, sorry mom for our teacher threatening your child so she wont tell you what happens in school anymore. Just sad they raise money with nothing to show for it. No shows, plays ,or anything diring the holidays . Go to a charter school or private school

If you have a special needs student please don't send them to this school. The principal Dr Barbara is awesome but the special needs team to me don't have the understanding to deal with challenged kids.

Calloway is very clean and organized. The teachers are hard working and pay attention to the children.my daughters teachers sends personal notes on things to work on and what my child is doing great in. She makes suggestions on how we should have her tested for advance classes. She is very loving and caring so deeply. The school pta is strong and does everything possible to keep the parents involved and the school up and running right.

I have been involved with Callaway for a long time and would like to commend Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Y Edwards, Mrs. Greggs and Ms. Fairclough for their exceptional gift as educators. At a very young age is when it all starts laying the foundation for our children. Parents before you select ratings for the school, teachers and principal make sure you are honest in rating yourself. It starts at home making sure we as parents reinforce the material, have our children in bed at a decent hour, spend quality time, visit the school etc. Remember it's a triangle....Parents, Students and Teachers. Great Job Callaway meeting AYP 8 years straight!!!!

There are few teachers at callaway that care about teaching at callaway the principal on the other hand needs some instructional advice. The Assistant principal was fired in a clayton county academy and citied for a DUI

My child started at Callaway when it opened for the school year 2008-2009 and we love Callaway. His teachers have allowed the parents to be involved in the daily activities and keep the parents very informed with notes and phone calls home. I am a Proud parent of 2 Callaway students.
