If you care about your child’s safety find another school for them to learn and grow. This school will place your child on the wrong bus even after submitting proper paperwork for change . When reaching out to the principal Dixon character , she doesn’t respond to parents concerns . This school’s focus needs to be towards running a school and not a janky daycare . The teachers are always absent in kindergarten and they especially do not ensure safe dismissal home for the younger children. The school should be shut down and it’s sad that this is how they are treating a predominantly people of color community

The principal Dr shoemaker is very unprofessional the nurse is unprofessional she is always hanging around the main office harassing parents They are all fake

So far for this year 2020-2021I enjoyed them during the pandemic they’ve been very supportive of the children ( mine) they kept me informed and I’m liking it so far! Ready for the 2021-2022

This is school is by far one of the worse schools in Clayton County. I am so pulling my child from this school. If you are zoned for Pointe South Elementary, RUNNNNN! It is a shame because out of the teachers that are there, only a few are actually concerned. The music teacher is great, God bless him.

There are some good staff here, but for the most part they do not teach and guide students with integrity. A lot of favoritism is to blame. Granted, my child is not the best student, but he is extremely smart. He needs to be challenged academically, but they do nothing of that nature. The gifted program here is lack luster and it is only once a week. The principal will bring down one student to lift up another. Information that is sent home and back to school is not followed up on. There's a cost to join PTA? Why?Teachers have a difficult job, but as a parent, my job is twice as hard sending a child to a school where I know he is not appreciated. I do appreciate the staff that does have the children's best interest at heart, but that is not enough. If staff, especially DR. SHOEMAKER, would take the initiative, time and access every situation instead of being insensitive, then maybe there could be a change. Until this school puts effort into the STUDENTS, they will always fail. I am NOT HAPPY WITH POINTE SOUTH ELEMENTARY. The last principal was not great and this one is not either. I

My kids attend this school, one in the 5th grade & the other in kindergarten we moved from New York to Georgia a year ago & lived in Stone Moutain for a couple of months & I was so disappointed in the school system there but when we moved to Riverdale & my kids started Pounte South my hopes were restored. The school indeed immediately reminded me of their previous school in Long Island NY they're very organized & thorough, the teachers Invest highly in the students' education. They have home work everyday & parents involvment is very important. My son whose in the 5th grade remains on the honor roll & loves this school. I would give the principal & Staff an A, for striving to make this school what it has become.

The principle and staff are very friendly and involved they make sure all kids have homework and assist whenever necessary
