I go to this school rn and I don't see what everyone is complaining to much about its not the best but it's getting there with the help of the new teachers and the principal ( plus over half of these reviews are my age or close to it).

This school is atrocious. As a fellow 8th grader I have been here since 6th and I wanted to say the school has not got any better like this teacher that is in my 3rd period is very rude and can take things the wrong way also the staff is also very rude and disrespectful to kids I would not recommend this school for any child.

As an active parent I have found it to be imperative to be engaged with the administration, teachers, and my child's work. Sequoyah Middle School goes above and beyond to make sure students receive a top notch education. Both of my children attended Sequoyah over the last four years under the leadership of Principal Lonnie White and they were well educated. The school communicated the events of the week every Sunday. The school always had enrichment and intervention activities during the summer and after school for the students. The administrators, teachers, and coaches all looked after my babies. Just recently I discovered that the administration has changed, but the culture of Excellence still lives on. I will continue to support the school even though my children are now at Drew High School doing very well. For those who complain about the school on this post, please get involved and engaged.

This school is terrible. The staff at Sequoyah treats these children like they are in jail. That is not what school should be about. I walked into the school this morning at the lady at front desk was screaming at me and I asked why was she mad and she said my child was lying on her and my child had said nothing about her. You will never know your child's grades until you have requested the information 100 times. Every teacher that I have had to deal with at this school never knows anything and blames someone else until you realize that you have been sent in a circle of people who know nothing. It's unfortunate that our children have to attend school everyday like this. There is no structure and everyone is all over the place.

All schools are what you make of them. Sequoyah Middle is one of the best schools in the area. I must say it's helping my son prepare for the next level. I am a parent (and dad too) that involved. Yes, I make my presents known. Having a young man in this day in time, that's very important. I will not lose my son to peer pressure, gangs and drugs.

I am a student entering the 8th grade and in the 2 years that I've been there I haven't seen the so called "bad side of the school'. Sequoyah is one of the greatest schools in the county if not the best.
