My daughter entered this school 4th grade year. We already lived in this area longer but she didn’t want to leave her old school. I’m so glad we made the transition. Her teacher’s have been wonderful lots of support. She’s made very nice friends with lovely parents. I hope my soon to be kindergartener has the same experience.

If you don't want your child to be treated unfairly, stay away from this school.

Engaged, passionate teachers committed to our children’s success. Our oldest finally has a safe space to learn, and an opportunity to be around children whose parents care about their education. The principal is also very involved and approachable. The quality of the education, resources and supporting staff if superior to all of our experiences in the Bay Area where only a private school tuition would grant you the same results. Thank you Stonegate!

My wife and I are privileged to live in Stonegate and have fantastic folks educate our child. We have participated in the Hawk Run and find it brings the kids together as well as stimulate their competitiveness. It is an amazing program.

Poor, just bearing with it. School's idea of Multi-culturism is to celebrate the dominate culture only. PTA engages in gossiping rather than problem solving.

Absolutely fantastic. Great school to be in!

The principal cares more about placating some of the veteran teachers than retaining talented and caring staff. My child was upset when one of the teaching assistants with whom he and his group had a strong rapport suddenly disappeared - apparently this person was well-liked by the children and many other teachers but sacked for “not fitting in” I learned after asking around. Left me feeling like the principal runs this place like a corporation and not a school. Very sad and unfortunate, and it makes me wonder how many other talented staff the principal cuts loose at the expense of the students.

5 Star... it may not fit everyone but for those seeking a strong curriculum and dedicated staff, this is a great school.

This is cream of the crop school. Curriculum is stellar, teachers are very caring and approachable, and students are well-mannered thanks to their school-wide character reinforcement. The below reviewer needs to get the fact right. It does have a higher percentage of Asians just as in any Irvine schools. But, by no means is it predominantly Chinese. School attracts high-performing kids from around the world due to the well-publicized test scores and top-rank, which fosters depth of academics in the classroom. Middle East, Australia and Europe have been the culture for Culture Week for the last 3 years to be accurate. Haters will always be haters. If you cannot deal with having fun while thriving academically as well. This school is not for you.

This school is very, very homogeneous. Predominantly Chinese. Every year for culture week, only asian cultures are chosen. I did not realize that when we first moved to Irvine. I have now moved my family south to an area which better represents various cultures. It's fine to learn about chinese culture but that is not the ONLY culture in America as the school makes it seem!

VERY DISAPPOINTED that there's so much politics at this school! Teacher assignment is a "black box" but it's clear that parents can influence assignments through politicking or donating. When the highly desired Teacher of the Year has a class chock-full of kids whose parents are influential in the school while remaining classes are loaded with new students, it make you wonder if this is a public or private institution. Parents who want to exert that much influence should just send their kids to private school, but shame on Stonegate for allowing itself to be influenced in this manner.

These teachers and staff are top notch. The whole culture of the school helps to build character as well as stellar academic critical thinkers. We have enjoyed our time here thus far.

My child attended this school. The demographics do not offer enough diversity. The student body is predominantly Asian. Unless your child is, too, then they may not feel as though they fit in as my child felt. It is a pressure-cooker environment with the parental mentality to push the kids. A lot of families here transferred from Woodbury Elementary so your child may not even attend school with neighborhood kids from Stonegate or Portola Springs. I gave the score an extra star for having a newer campus with some technology for the kids.

Lots of after school program on campus and in CDC. Students are hard working and well behaved. lots of extra curriculum activities but the core curriculum program of the school is not strong. Teacher relies a lot on parent volunteering.

Great school because of great students and involved parents, not the teachers and administration. Teachers I've met seem detached and only there for the paychecks, and also seem lazy because of great, motivated students. Hope the teachers see this review and take it as a challenge and maybe a wake-up call.

The Principal at this school puts his teachers first and the students second. I agree with the other parent about him being less and less caring. I would also add that he is unethical. Make sure you keep and document everything, because if you ever deal with him your dealing with a snake. I see the reason why they didn't want him at the district. The children at this school seem to be well behaved. The front office staff is great! The Teachers are good however there are a few that should retire.

This school is getting out of control and increasing the number of students is compromising the quality of education our kids are getting. The principal seems to be less and less caring and attentive to our students and their families.
