School needs improved leadership. They are complacent and do not have practices that are commonplace in other schools. Practices that are intended to keep people safe. The teachers are wonderful and many student are given support they wouldn’t be given else where. This school is very expensive and should make better use of their resources.

I looked into this school for my son and was very hopeful. It was extremely hard to get anyone to respond. Multiple voice mails went unanswered. I emailed the address on the website for admission at least twice without a response. I finally got a response through Facebook. I realize COVID complicated things, but I still had to constantly reach out far more than any other entity during this. I would be told someone would reach out to me at certain dates and they never did. Instead, I had to follow-up constantly. Even the teacher they said they would contact actually had to reach out to them. I did ask for my application and financial aid info to be returned since it was clear it wasn’t going to work out because we couldn’t get a shadow day. I got only part of my son’s application back. All his evaluations with very sensitive info are MIA. They apparently lost my entire finical aid paperwork. They said they mailed it, but it never arrived. With my prior experience with things not being followed through, I am doubting it got lost in the mail and I’m sure they misplaced it like they did half my son’s admission application. So somewhere out there is all our SS#, tax returns, full credit report, etc. I now am paying for a program to closely monitor whether or not myself and my kids are victims of identity theft. I’ve been emailing weekly trying to figure it out. I was also told they would refund my application fee. That was 6/15. Although it took forever, and multiple times of me reaching out, to get a response I will say that they were certainly able to cash my application check within days of my son’s application being sent. They claim to have sent it to me with the other paperwork. As much as it seemed this would be a great fit for my son, I am glad it didn’t work out because of how hard communication and follow-up has been with just the application process. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have to communicate about other things if he was a student.

Fortune Academy has saved our children's lives and our family. This school has given a future to them when I thought their wasn't going to be one. The school has more patience than anything I have ever seen. Each child is given an individualized plan and class sizes are maintained to max of 6 in the lower school. My son went from not being able to get it out, to the Neuropsych saying "He is learning far above what I ever thought he could!" Fortune Academy has a way of making learning fun for the children. My son has everything from severe ADHD to learning differences to major medical issues and Fortune Academy has helped him achieve greatness in spite of all of that. He now is in 5th grade and is now even thinking about what he wants to do in the future. Our Family life has improved beyond words can express. No more fights about homework and no issues in the morning going to school. In fact, they can not wait to go to school now.

Fortune Acadrmy is an excellent school choice if your child is in K-12 and has a learning difference. HSE public schools not able to accommodate my child with ADHD and NLD. Her grades were good but low self esteem. Classes too large and teachers not equipped with proper tools or training.

Over the past 5 years, my daughter has blossomed at Hutson! She was really struggling and unhappy at her previous school. After shadowing at Hutson, she begged me to take her there the next day. She knew immediately that it was the right environment for her, where the teachers understood her learning differences and all of her peers were experiencing similar challenges. Hutson, not only taught my daughter to read but has given her tremendous courage and self- confidence.

Hutson has been the best thing that has ever happened to us!! For years my daughter was floundering and that was with her private school giving extra assistance and her being tutored almost daily after school!!! She has now been attending Hutson for 4 years and she has grown tremendously!! Her self esteem is back and she is flourishing! The teachers and staff give 110% and are overly qualified for the jobs they serve! The cost to educate each child greatly exceeds the amount of the tuition but they make it work!! I will be forever grateful for what they have done for my precious girl!!!
