Non recommend this school and even less for a child with special needs, their knowledge in this area is nil and for them the child with special needs only represents a problem and they look for a way to get you out of it. The saddest thing is that instead of helping in his learning only hurt your self-esteem.

If you're a special needs parent, RUN! This school administration lacks support to their special education students and staff. My daughter has been denied FAPE by the principal herself because she said, and I quote "she looks normal." I rather save you the headache of trying to put your child into this school where I am consistently begin told my daughter stimming is a maladaptive behavior and they don't know what to do. I've given them tools and TEA guidance and They always say, "were educators and were trained to do this". What I see is that they aren't enough staff members, nor do they care enough to make the necessary changes to help insure our children better support. Seriously RUN

This school is not great, if you have a child with special needs. They are neglectful! My child has over 30 ant bites on him. But no one has called me or seen me, or would tell me who was in charge . I know they have cameras out there too.

I have 2 kids currently enrolled in Horne sadly this is my kids home school. This year is my daughters first year in pre K when i went to meet the teacher she did not have anything ready she wasn’t aware of the schedule she was not able to answer my questions it was very disappointing. Today is her 2nd day one of the ladies in the front was very disrespectful to pick up my kids took about an hour I understand they are busy but the attitude has been since last year. This is very sad to have to be zones school to this school. I don’t suggest this school and i am not the only parent that has complained. If i could give this school a 0 star i would staff in the front very disrespectful. Also i called yesterday asking when can we have lunch with our kids front desk who ever answered dont know to all my questions is as of now i dont know thats the answer. When i call is to keep calling because to get threw is super difficult.

I have two children currently enrolled. They are doing very well. I get communication from the teachers often and I feel my children are being challenged. My kids love the school so much. That speaks to the quality of the social emotion learning occurring there.

My experience from the time I first enrolled them is not satisfying at all. there are a few good seeds but there are also very much so some bad ones. I kind of agree with the other reports.

I absolutely agree with the last reviewer. I regret transferring my children to this school. I know nothing about what's going on. I have not seen one graded paper from my son's 2nd grade class all year. At the beginning of the school year, my son was at end of the year reading levels. It is now the end of the school year and for some reason his reading level has not progressed which leads to believe that they're not even testing to see where he is at this point. They will not be returning here.

This school lacks a LOT of things. They are also not friendly or great you properly. It does make you think if they are just there to collect a check. Out of the whole entire school year just 1 parent teacher conference. Don't do anything about bullies and hardly bring any homework. My kids have been attending this school for 3 years and im finally moving them to another school.

We moved to Houston from Rio Rancho New Mexico several years ago and my oldest has attended Horne since 1st grade. We have been very disappointed. The teachers are uninvolved, the discipline is lacking. The art, music and PE programs are laughable. My 2nd grader has 1 20 minute recess and if it gets rained out the sit and watch a show that I would rate appropriate for Kindergarden. I feel as though the staff are all there for a paycheck and not for my kid. I have also had difficulty getting feed back from the teachers and have found all but one teacher to be difficult to contact at all, and when you can get in touch with someone no one seems interested in answering your questions. I am looking for other school options and would not recommend this school.
