Unethical, dishonest, and focused on self-interest about sums it up. Your babies are not their primary interest. They will hide if your child is struggling. They will hide if your child get hurts. They will hide it until thry are forced to tell you the truth.

My son is currently in the 5th grade and has attended Metcalf since pre-k. I really like the teachers he has had, some more than others. Yes, like with all schools there is room for improvement but we as parents have to remember that the school is not a daycare. We as parents need to step in when our child needs extra help. My son has been on the honor roll since 1st grade because I take the time to help him succeed when needed. The school does a great job of having tutorials for kids that need the extra help. Although my son wasn't failing a class, I talked to his teacher and got him to attend a couple so he could master the subject. I'm an involved parent that attends the math nights, reading nights, and teacher parents conferences. I have to admit I was disappointed in the number of field trips but with the education budget that the schools have I understand. The kids need discipline and structure, after all they are there to learn not to attend recess.

My son had been on Metcalf since pk to 5th and let me tell you this school is TERRIBLE!! they treat your kids like mommies, don't move, don't talk even in lunch time, they need more organization especially in events students, always long lines in office, need more people to work there!! and in the parking lot, no enough space for parking!!

This school is awful they have deaf teachers teaching hearing children which causes an issue when the teacher chooses to hear what she would like.. This school is disorganized and frankly everyday when I send my child to school I am fearful of them not returning home.. The ap's and teachers rarely call you back.. If you ask to speak to a teacher they will automatically assume they need to conference and cover their bum's.. They bring children into conferences and reprimand them and let them feel like they are worthless.. I recommend if you are zoned to this school you move or invest in private school if either option is in your budget if not god speed!

Teachers at this school are wonderful! They do everything in their power to help my child, who has been struggling this year. I appreciate their effort so much. Teachers are the one who do all the work. The administration at this school does not provide support for their staff. As a parent, I only come in every now and then, but I know that the morale at this school is very low. My child tells me that classes have to be separated during recess. How is structured recess supposed to help our kids interact and learn from each other? My kid says that when the principal or assistant principals come, the class feels scared and they all get nervous. Since when should a child ever feel scared and nervous at school?!?! This is outrageous!
