Coming froma magnet school to ashford was a drastic change for my kids. The teachers were kind and loved my kids but there's no challenge for my kids at this school. I never saw homework. It wasn't given. 1 or 2 projects and 1 field trip for only my eldest kids (she told me 2 were canceled because the students were disrespectful to the teachers and the good had to suffer for the bad very often). I as a parent had to deal with my youngest being bullied and also witnessed bullying walking from the school to my home. I've also witnessed on many occasions children almost getting hit by a car on kirkwood going home. For the kids in this school zone, there need to be a cross guard on kirkwood, the parents need to control and walk with there kids and the school need to challenge the students and inforce a strict bullying policy so the kids can be safe at the school and walking home.

My sisters have improved a lot, and the teachers are really nice and friendly. I love the school program and the Dual language, love it

The Dual language program in this school is awesome I don’t understand the los rating, it is a full bicultural program where students learn English and Spanish

My experience throughout these two years of study that my representative has had at Ashford Elementary School has been satisfactory, my daughter radiates joy when she comes home, her teachers are excellent, her teaching methods are very good, which she does That children can learn more easily and quickly, help them adapt to any situation, motivate them, have fun with the activities they do daily, teach them what friendship is, for all these reasons I highly recommend this elementary school.

My wife and I applied for a waver so our daughter could attend Ashford for the dual language program. We got in, and have been overall happy so far. Initially the school had leadership challenges, but there was a recent change at the top. The new Principle (former Vice P. of school) is a tremendous leader and role model for the kids. We are really excited for the future of the school. Regarding the schooling: Our daughter really enjoys the dual language program. All of the DL kids are very engaged, and the teachers are just great. We feel like we are getting a private school benefit, but while supporting the public school. We are hoping to get our youngest in the DL Pre-K program.

And the review by the staff stating that Valerie Sikes leads the school is obviously in denial.I wonder if the principal even did it herself,wont put anything past her.

This is one of the best school The teachers are more like a parent I would say. Loving ,kind,very very understanding... my son Tanish who was in pre kg and in miss Do class ...c is one of the best teachers I have come across we will miss u this year mam, thank for blomming my son, we will miss u this yr.
