Yorkshire Academy is by far the best school we have experienced, not only from a parent point of view but also our kids as well. Our girls love Yorkshire. The staff and faculty are amazing. The school provides a challenging curriculum to ensure the kids are more than ready for their next stage of their education. In addition, the school does an amazing job establishing an environment that is not only conducive to learning but promotes social growth as well. We love Yorkshire Academy.

My girls love going to school! We are greeted by the wonderful staff at carpool with smiling faces both at drop off and pick up. They also share antidotes or interactions they have with our little ones each day. From my first tour five years ago to present day, I knew my granddaughters were in “good hands”. Yorkshire Academy is a place of learning that embraces students as well as their families. Staff members provide a warm, nurturing environment that allows its students to learn, explore, and grow. Students are taught rigorous academic content, as well as a variety of enrichment courses that stretch their minds by exposure. On campus you don’t turn a corner without seeing smiling students that develop a love for learning. I cannot imagine a better place for my granddaughters to prosper!

My son has been going to Yorkshire Academy for 4 years. Words cannot express my gratitude for this school from teachers to curriculum to sports. It’s so rewarding to watch the transformation in his character both in academic and psychosocial abilities. Yorkshire is unique in that it emphasizes children’s creativity, motivation, and intellectual growth. I have not seen a school out there that offers enrichment classes on emotional intelligence as early as first and 2nd grade. After those classes, my son showed a noticeable change in his ability to regulate his emotions, his sense of composure, overall demeanor has completely transformed because of these enrichment classes. Academically, the curriculum is rigorous but not monotonous. Teachers do not overwhelm students with boring lengthy homework, and I believe this is the key to maintaining the kids motivation. This school is worth the tuition and more.

We moved our daughters to Yorkshire after attending another memorial area private school. Both of our girls have just blossomed here. This is definitely where they are supposed to be. We love the community, small classes, academics, and individualized attention our girls receive here. They are genuinely happy here and are both learning a lot. Yorkshire is a fantastic school and we are so blessed to have found it:)

My son is currently enrolled in Pre-school at Yorkshire. He has attended Yorkshire for the past two years. My husband and I felt it was important to send our son to a school that not only focuses strongly on education, but one that fosters a nurturing environment. We carefully considered our options for private schools within the West Houston area and found that Yorkshire fit our needs. We immediately felt connected to Yorkshire for their inclusivity, diversity, and positivity. We have seen our son grow tremendously as he has spent time at Yorkshire and he has developed so many new skills. We are pleased with his current teachers and have had positive communication regarding our son's education. What we really love is that he is happy at school and he has the opportunity to learn art, music, foreign language, and social emotional skills each day in a safe environment. Yorkshire has been the best decision we could make for our family and we will continue to send each of our children here in the future.

I don't regret many things in my life, but I do regret sending my 4 year old child here for the PreK program. Between poor classroom management, inappropriate expectations of the students and systematic bullying from administration and students alike, I can't recommend this school. It's been a year now and I still get the occasional question from my child, "Remember when I was a bad kid and everyone hated me?" It breaks my heart every time.

This will be our 4th year in Yorkshire Academy and we couldn’t be happier. The kids and teacher really benefit with small class sizes (lower student/teacher ratio). My daughter is going into Kindergarten already knowing how to read (sight words, small words). Besides encouraging physical exercise, the school also encourages reading since early ages and this is fantastic. They get to bring a book home starting in pre-k and they need to take care of the book, read it and return it to school within 1 week. The After school program is also great. They have the opportunity to learn how to code, sports, chess, etc - they have enrichment and academic programs. The atmosphere is really nurturing - all kids know each other, respect each other and look out for one another. It is a family where the teachers and Principal know your child by their name.We are very pleased to be part of the Yorkshire Academy Family!

My daughter attended Yorkshire Academy for three years, from 3rd grade to 5th. This school was the best move we made for our daughter, she fitted in as though she’d always been there, we were impressed with the level of academics, outdoor time, performing arts opportunities and learning about ocean health in class (the school is an ocean guardian school). An hour of PE each day outside is a great bonus as is the fact the children eat outside together every day. The teachers at Yorkshire go beyond their work days to bring the world into the classroom, all the staff at Yorkshire are amazing people - I would highly recommend Yorkshire Academy to anyone looking for a great family feel all-rounder school.

Both my kids are at Yorkshire and it is the perfect school for them because of the low teacher to student ratio, small total class size and strength & encouragement in the academic, music and arts. My children have loved being at Yorkshire and we are extremely grateful for the opportunity for balanced growth YA provides. The teachers are AMAZING and truly care about the students. Its Cottage class teachers are the best for 2-4 years old. I’ve also found the families warm and friendly and a great mix and diversity amongst the students.Such a unique school to be able to see at the Memorial Area!

Yorkshire Academy is a wonderful school that provides my children a safe, engaging and fun learning environment! The teachers are so kind and take a specialized approach to each child, knowing all children learn in different ways. The art that my daughter brings home is so special and unique. We like the small classroom size. We LOVE our teachers and are very thankful for Yorkshire. Also, their summer camps are so great!!!!! We would recommend Yorkshire Academy to anyone!! We love it here.

We have a 4 year old in pre K and we have opted for virtual learning for the first grading period of this term. I just want to say that I have been totally blown away by the execution of the curriculum for virtual learners. Not only is there 1-2-1 meetings with his teacher (Mrs Waterfield- who we adore!!) but there are plenty of activities and tasks to do with him. It has filled up our day and given us the structure we were missing! My 2 year old gets involved and ‘learns’ with my older child. We get daily morning meetings, live classes (that are recorded in case we miss it) and get all the supplies we will need to do all the activities including work sheets, stationary, items for science experiments and maths. The Yorkshire Academy staff (admin and teachers) have always treated us and our son with love and kindness but seeing them smash this virtual learning has totally exceeded our expectations. I had no idea how the teachers could possibly keep a 4 year old engaged virtually! We definitely look forward to when he can comfortably join his friends but in the mean time this has been perfect for our family! We are so blessed to be a part of the YA family.

We have had an amazing experience for both our boys at YA. I cannot recommend the school any higher.

My experience is really excellent. I could not be happier and would wish for the school to have also the middle year classes for my kids to continue in this unique community

My daughter has been attending Yorkshire now for four years. We are so very pleased with her education and overall experience at Yorkshire. As non-Texans and new to the area, Yorkshire was extremely welcoming and inclusive. The teachers and staff are phenomenal and responsive. They go above and beyond to interact with each child and the parents as well. While it is a small school it has left a major impact on us and we consider Yorkshire as an extended family!

Excellent. I don’t ever worry about my two little ones at school. I know they are happy and excited to go every morning. My three year old literally runs into the arms of her teacher each morning. The approach to learning has been fun instead of dogmatic and yet, or because of this, they learn so much! My children have thrived at Yorkshire and the foundation for positive learning experiences has been laid. My children are in cottage and Pre-K. We are sad to leave this wonderful school and community. They want to know if we return to Houston, if they can go back to Yorkshire.

We were blessed to have had our 3 children attend Yorkshire during our 4 year stint in Houston. Having experienced the full gamut from cottage through 5th grade, we can confidently say that Yorkshire was the best decision we made during our time in Houston. We have witnessed tremendous growth in confidence, academics and stature in our children. The teachers and staff are friendly and dedicated towards nurturing and educating the children. Being a close knit community in Yorkshire, we are constantly kept in the loop during our children`s educational journey and even established friendships among the staff and fellow parents. The children looked forward to going to school and pick up time in the car would always invariably be a competition to regale us with tales of the day`s happenings.Truly a school we loved and would go back in a heartbeat should we return to Houston!

I love this school and recommend it to every family. Not only are they academically excellent but most importantly, they care about the kids and the families. The atmosphere is great and they are very hands on on everything. Every single person in this school is amazing. I'm grateful forever.

We have three children and have had the good fortune of being part of the Yorkshire Academy family for the past 13 years. It has been a tremendously positive experience. The staff, teachers, and curriculum are unbelievably good. We are so glad our family found this school.

We were fortunate enough to be a part of the Yorkshire Academy family for 3.5 years while we lived in Houston. We had moved there from Canada, where I had been teaching for 10 years, and so when looking for a school I was looking both as a parent and an educator. I could not have asked for a better beginning to my kids academic career than Yorkshire. The entire faculty truly love their jobs, the school, each other, and most importantly the students. I have worked in many schools and have never seen a more positive school environment than YA. The curriculum is innovative and top notch, the building and amenities are constantly being improved upon, the after school opportunities are varied and of very high quality. Respect, tolerance and love of each other is constantly enforced in the student body and I truly couldn't have asked for a nicer group of kids for my kids to call their friends. When we decided to return to Canada, leaving Yorkshire Academy was by far the hardest thing for us to leave. Again, looking at the school both as a parent and as an educator, I can't say enough good things about Yorkshire,I am so grateful we were fortunate to have the years there we did.

Our family is so happy we found this school and we were lucky to get in. Our daughter absolutely loves it. She has learned so much and met many friends. The staff is amazing, all the teachers are very sweet and caring. Lots of afternoon classes for all ages that are very convenient. As a working couple we really appreciate that the school provides care after regular hours.
