The teacher-student ratio is 10:1 and sometimes 5:1. It is easy to get back on track if you miss a day. Students can move much slower if they struggle with a topic and move fast when they master another. The school sets you up to take the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. There are weekend events that usually bring students together.

Memorial Private School is certainly a bright spot for study in Houston. The staff goes above and beyond for their students, and in this nurturing, kind environment, students are truly able to strive for greatness and reach their academic potential unencumbered.

MPS provides a low stress environment for kids to learn and grow to see their potential. The small class sizes and individualized instruction the teachers give each student provides them with confidence and a feeling of accomplishment. The best brain schedule makes sure that each teacher gets to see the students best time of the time.

I’ve been going to MPS for almost two years now, and I have to say it is definitely an improvement from most schooling systems. The rotating schedule they have in place for classes makes sure students get the most out of each period. It is very accommodating to neurodivergent people and people with chronic illnesses. Most schools don't acknowledge children with different needs or chronic pain, but they do here, making it easy to speak with teachers and staff about health and education requirements. Harassment among peers is fairly nonexistent as the staff creates a welcoming environment with no tolerance towards bullying. The school is self-paced, so students can blaze a trail if they choose to do so. The one-on-one teaching lets all succeed. It is one of the most interesting high school experiences a teenager can have as it preps students for real-world problems. I have grown while being here and feel prepared to enter college and even the workforce.

This school is not where you want to send your kid. Especially, if they have learning differences. The school administration is terrible. The head of the school does not care for the students. She sees them as the villain. She proactively breaks down her students. She does not communicate situations until situations have gone too far. They allow bullying to occur with their knowledge.

Wonderful school for our teenage daughter! We’ve tried several small private HS in Houston, and this is by far is the perfect fit! A high school experience with a tailored education to her needs, plus fun clubs and activities for a nice social experience. Teachers and staff love what they are doing and it shows. Feels like an extended family. Very pleased with our experience at MPH.

I knew I had chosen the correct school for my son when he spoke up during a sermon at our small church. Our pastor was asking for prayers for school staff and students who were just trying to hang in there until spring break came. My son spoke up to tell her not to include him among those wanting a break from school. He told everyone he loved going each day to his school and would miss going over the week off. A huge change from his reluctance to go to class each day at his previous school.During his time at MPS, the teachers truly knew and supported each student and taught each individual wherever they were at academically. Learning differences and styles were both accepted and respected. The entire staff made sure each child felt a part of the MPS family.Harry and Pam are exceptional people and school leaders. They model positive character and leadership traits to the students every day and they both demonstrate and teach citizenship skills within the school community that are needed for life.Choosing this school for my son changed his entire learning experience for the better. I can’t imagine a student who would not benefit from being a part of MPS.

I want to thank MPHS staff and teachers for all their hard work. Our son, Mike, graduated from Memorial Private High School 1 year ago. His teachers there were great at working with students as individuals, both those more advanced learners and those with specific challenges. This past year Mike studied and earned a certificate as a pharmacy technician. And Monday he starts his first job in his field. We are so excited to see him using his strong abilities and continuing to work through challenges to become a productive young adult. Joan Gonzalez

Memorial Private is like no other school. It has all the same activities, clubs, dances, etc. without the drama and stress that you will find at other schools. The academics are stellar. The teachers take the time to get to know each student and understand how they learn best.

Memorial Private School's approach is really innovative. Students engage in research project-based learning, so subject matter really comes alive. In partnership with companies and universities, they are really shifting the way students learn and grow. Impressive core values, friendly faculty and staff, and a strong focus on helping every student, MPHS stands out. As a former private school administrator, I think this school can make a difference in lowering stress and improving learning outcomes.

This school is amazing. I used to be a pretty bad kid sneaking out to go to parties and stuff. My mom didn't know what to do until she found this school. It has helped me so much i had a very drastic change over the year. It doesn't even feel like school, it has a homie vibe to it and since the school is so small its like everyone is family. The school also does monthly family activities and camps where it brings the school closer together. If you want your child in a safe, comfortable, bullyfree place then Memorial Private High School is the one your looking for.
