This School has a lot of work to do. And definitely need a new hand pick of teachers. This has far been the most unprofessional school I have ever dealt with. And they do not have programs to help your child if needed.

This school has an amazing admin. The new ranking of a B is proof they not only know what they are doing, but care. I don't think anyone should be judgmental about extra task or anything this school went through during Covid. They like every school were doing their best to keep up with changes while keeping the students and teachers safe. Now that things are back to "normal" amazing things are happing again at the school. They have new PTO Board that has new website www.shadowbriarpto.com. Communication between parents and staff is a top priority. Teachers come and go at every school. However unlike the rest HISD schools, Shadowbriar is fully staffed. So if it was as bad as some of the teachers said how did they get a fully staffed school, when most other HISD schools can not?

This school is HORRIBLE. Run as fast as you can! Admin does not care about their teachers or students. They are truly unprofessional, that is why there is such a high turnover rate of teachers. The principal has no idea what he is doing and has no idea how to lead. He is a bully! The school is currently a D rating, it will be an F rating by next year.

Worst experience my kids have EVER had. There are curse words written on the bathroom stalls, the majority of the kids have very foul mouths, and yet there are no consequences for them, VERY poorly disorganized, kids wander the halls the office staff does not update any information. Glorified horrible babysitters is what they are, not a good educational structure at all! If you don't want your kids to start down the wrong path at a young age, stay far away from this school!

Terrible, 3 admins with one who leads has no clue about how to turn the school around. He thinks adding more things on top of teachers will be the fix! No!! giving them more time absent of time fillers will do that. One admin was a PE teacher and has no idea about being in a real classroom and the 3rd asst principal who is a know it all and is a realtor also. That explains a lot about the chaos that is this school. Next year they will be at a D or worse.

The school has lack of support from administration!! There is no consequences for the misbehaved kids, the principle is only concerned with the money that the school get for each student that comes to school. I hate Mr. Samuel who is the principle!! This school needs a whole new administration staff! I feel sorry for the Teachers

Administration refuses to discipline children at this school unless it benefits them directly. They do not seem interested in what benefits students or the class environment. Many teachers are not allowed to send students to the office for any reason. A girl slapped my son in the face and she was not sent to the office. I should not need to tell my son to take matters into his own hands, he is much too young to be forced to negotiate such an inappropriate situation. There was no response on administrative part whatsoever. The teachers are wonderful, but should be supported by administration.

I am a parent who now has her third child attending Shadowbriar Elementary and I am excited to be back. My oldest child is now in college and my middle child attends Westbriar Middle school. Both were more than prepared by Shadowbriar teachers and staff to meet the challenges of Middle School. They were engaged in the curriculum and mentored by great teachers in areas of self esteem, helping them to find their passion (Creative arts, sports, sciences) and set a great foundation for their continued success in HISD. Go Bulldogs!
