Any school is a sum total of its teachers....not the building itself....this one is a keeper for sure.... additionally I for one, am happy that they keep the helicopter moms out of the classroom ....they are teaching independence as well. Send your children without any hesitation to Foster....you won't regret it.

Foster is physically showing its age, but inside is a vibrant center of learning. My son is in second grade and he loves going to school. I don't think I learned the things he has learned until I was in fourth grade at least-and that was at a private school. The music teacher is truly gifted and the children and staff seem very happy. My husband and I were reluctant to send our child to a public school, but we have been nothing but pleased. Particularly impressive is the conduct expected of the students. One of the women at the front desk is unfriendly, but don't let that deter you-Foster really is a diamond in the rough

The School once considered the 'step-child' of the others has likely earned its keep as one of the great schools of the town. I was once concerned because the overall test scores were regularly lower (just by a bit) than the other schools in town but learned this is really do to the fact that it is the only one in town involved in bringing other kids from towns with less support in to the school which slightly contributes to the oveall scores being a tad lower. The advantage however is at least this one has some more diversity than the others. The new principal is a a work-a-holic who is completely committed to the success of the school. the teachers have been fantastic and dedicated. My two kids are having a phenomenal experience there. They are fortunately well advanced in their learning but my sisters kids are also having a great experience and two of them are on IEP's. The school is very willing to help individual student needs. My one pet peave is that they don't let parents in the class rooms enough. Oveall though - a great school!
