Our family has been a part of the SJS community for 7 years now. Our children love the school and are excelling. The values we teach in our home are reinforced during school. My husband and I love that the middle school students mentor the younger grades. There is a real sense of community. The children learn academics as well as great life skills they will take with them. The school is definitely a hidden gem on the South Shore.

I am not Catholic, but I am very greatful our family has found a wonderful place in this terrific school. Besides its amazing strengths, SJS is also an amazing value. At this school my son will recieve an elementary education and have opportunities similar to schools of 4 times the cost. I welcome anyone to come for a visit and see SJS in person.

We have been very happy with the education our son gets at St. Jerome. It is impressive how much further ahead he is than other kids his age in the public schools. The academics are amazing, plus the small environment is great for developing character. They recently scored 2nd in the state for their lego robotics and beat out hundreds of other teams. Great academics, community and not too expensive.

Our children are receiving an excellent education at this school. It is in the top 5 schools for the Archdiocese of Boston. The students place in the top 10% NATIONALLY. Its a hidden gem. The middle schoolers Lego Robotics team placed second in Massachusetts. A remarkable achievement considering the small size of the school. St. Jerome School, as its mission states, offers academic excellence; service as a way to build community and faith at the center of all it does.

We have been involved with St Jerome's for 38 years. I am an alum who always dreamed of having her children attend SJS. When I had my daughter and found out that one of my favorite teachers was now the principal, it was a no brainer. Then to hear that SJS is consistantly ranked in the top 10% of the schools in the Boston diocese, it really solidified everything. Rankings are all well and good but you have to feel comfortable with the place you are sending your children to spend most of their day. SJS feels like a community, like an extension of your family. Not only do the teachers and administrators strive to bring out the best in the students acedemically, they also help them be caring and compassionate members of their community.

Our family has been a part of this school community for almost 4 years now. Our experience has been nothing short of wonderful. The administrators and teachers are simply top notch in their fields. The environment is inviting to each of its families. Academically, it has exceeded all our our expectations. Our children are thriving in a faith based curriculum that has educational standards that more than prepares the children for not only their high school careers, but for their lives beyond that. In a world that can seem so mean and scary at times, having an environment that teaches book smarts as well as the benefits of doing for others is not something to be overlooked. We could not be more happy for all that Saint Jerome School is teaching our children.

We have always received a high level of education and faculty involvement over the last 15 years.

I love this school!!! From the day my oldest son started here, we have felt at home. The principal, teachers and staff are very supportive and the students, parents and families are so welcoming. The academic programs are strong and our national test scores show it! I have been so pleased with my children's academic progress and how each of them are challenged to do their personal best. In addition the school offers many fun and educational extracurricular activities such as drama, band, First Lego Robotics Team, Cub Scouts, an environmental club, boys and girls basketball teams, a run club, and a fashion design club. The parents and parishioners are involved and always willing to share their talents. This school is like a family.

I have one child who is currently enrolled and another who has graduated from Saint Jerome School. We have been thrilled with our experiences at the school. It has been a secure environment for our children where they have thrived. It has provided them with a top notch education as well as helped them to develop socially into conscientious young adults. This is something I feel is lacking in most other academic environments. The cost of tuition has been worth every dime! My oldest daughter has continued onto a private high school. Here she was placed in honors classes (including science, math and history) . She was so well prepared, the transition was easy for her and she has had continued success. She has been taught the skills needed for success at Saint Jerome School. THANK YOU to all the teachers and staff for their dedication to our students and the school.

I am a parent of three children who all attended St. Jerome School. I am so proud to be a St. Jerome parent. Two of my children have graduated and gone on to attend and excel in private high schools. The education they all received at St. Jerome is exceptional. They tested very well in their high school entrance exams and were very well prepared for all subjects, including both English and Math. The school has always pushed technology to support the educational experience. All the class rooms have smart boards, and the middle school students have iPads. In addition, they have many other specialists to round out the education. They include, Latin, Spanish, Computers, Computer Programming, Music, Art, Gym and Band. The school also has both girls and boys basketball teams for the middle school students. The school is faith based and it truly lives by that standard. Each month, the students donate to a charity, in return they are allowed to dress down for the day. One of the most special attributes of the school is that the older children help the younger children through lunch and during their attendance at Mass. This creates an environment of empathy and kindness. I am so happy that my husband and I made the decision 15 years ago to have my oldest son attend St. Jerome School. We have never regretted the decision, not once in the last 15 years.

I am a parent of 3 children who attend St Jerome school. My oldest will be sadly graduating from there next spring. She has had the most positive experience as have all 3 of my kids. The education which we sacrifice a lot to pay for is worth every penny. Our children thrive there and are taught not only the important subjects but also lessons on life. They teach them to do what's right and they have strong morals and a great foundation for life. They are also in the 90 % for most subjects compared to kids across the Nation! I believe that because St Jerome is a catholic school and they really live the mission that they teach, that this school excels in being the best example for you child in his or her formative years. The principal in fact was a teacher for 3 decades at St Jerome before becoming principal. She is so enthusiastic. Her energy is so positive. She treats the students with such care and kindness all the while keeping order and being a great disciplinarian. I cannot say enough about what a positive role model she is. Now, as far as the parents of this school, I have found them so welcoming and because of our small community we have made many life long friends. My children have formed such bonds with their friends at this school that it makes it difficult for them to leave. Every year at graduation, there is not a dry eye in the house. This speaks volumes. I cannot tell you enough good things about this school. I give 4 stars!and I am happy to give this review.

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with how welcoming this school is. Over the last few years, I have seen several kids switch to Saint Jerome's from other schools where they were being picked on, left out or even bullied. These children have been embraced into the SJS family. The other students have emulated the Christian behavior that their teachers model in accepting and befriending these students, who in many cases have social issues that make it hard for them to fit in in a larger school. As a person who volunteers a lot at the school and in the classrooms, I have personally witnessed these students thriving in the Saint Jerome's environment. The model of older students helping out younger students through being Mass buddies, peer tutoring, reading buddies, recess and lunch buddies - helps the whole student body to learn patience, empathy and respect for each other. The addition of rosary and Stations of the Cross clubs this year has only enhanced the loving spiritual environment that is St Jerome School.

My children have been at this school for three years and I am very happy with our decision to send them here! My kids are in the elementary grades and the teachers have been great! The academics are challenging and the expectations of the kids and their behavior are high but not unreasonable. Many of the parents are involved in the school and the activities at school. I have found that St. Jerome is not just a great school but it is a great community!

I'm sorry to hear about the feedback below. However, there are other facts to be taken into consideration before just labeling SJS as a school where bullying is tolerated and the writer has not provided those. I have two kids in this school and there was a bullying situation with one of them and a classmate. This was was promptly addressed by the principal in an excellent manner. My kids are both very confident from their tenure with the school so far and I am happy that this time at SJS is setting them up with the skills and knowledge to enroll into prime high schools and subsequent tier 1/ivy league colleges. This is an excellent school with dedicated teachers and a warm and welcoming community.

A year ago this day I pulled my daughter out of SJS because she was being bullied by her teacher. Dozens of families have left SJS over several years for this reason. Filed a bully complaint with the school. The principal IGNORED it for two months. Replied after I hand delivered letters to the rectory for the School Board. Yet principal hid them never distributed them. Principal s written reply was teacher was NOT a bully, just had a caustic or abrasive teaching style. Didn't follow policy, interviewed teacher only - not victim or witnesses. My daughter & prior students are in therapy because of this teaching style . MULTIPLE complaints filed prior, ignored by all administrators of the school. Safe house for bullies and deceitful leaders. This is my second child bullied here. Do your homework BEFORE being risking your child's well being.

Shared with me in a note from a parent... Kudos go to the staff of the Extended Day program at Saint Jerome. The teachers in the school and the staff who work in the Extended Day are amazing! They are always smiling when they greet my daughter in the morning and are still smiling when we pick up at 6pm! There are so many fun things to do including outdoor time and use of the gym for activities. The crafts, science experiments and general FUN make it easier for me knowing she is well-cared for and happy to be there. She told me the other day, "one of my friends comes to Extended Day because we told her how much fun it is!" Guess that says it all!

In addition to Saint Jerome School's commitment to academic excellence, strong faith, and service to others, I am impressed with the "can do" culture. If there is an idea from the community to enrich the learning experience of the students, then the support and energy exist to make it happen. For example, the day before the 250th Anniversary of John and Abigail Adams' Wedding was to be reenacted, Mrs. Puleo, the principal, learned that two classes could attend. Parents and teachers mobilized so that grades 3 and 8 could go to the church and experience a living history moment. Over the past month alone, students have been treated to presentations from a NASA astronaut and a former MA state senator. All events happened because of the connections and ideas brought to the school from parents and parishioners and the receptiveness of the administration. I love that these alternative opportunities of learning exist!

My son is in the new K-0 class. This is an outstanding school. We love Mrs. Puleo, the principal, she is the best principal we have ever met, and that is saying a lot as my mother was a teacher. We like the structure and their commitment to academics. All of the students last year did well above average on test scores and got into the high schools they wanted. From the Christmas show to the Veteran's Day show to everything before and after, this is an incredibly active and engaging environment.

My daughter is so excited to be in the upcoming production of "Seussical Jr." May 8th and May 9th 2015! SJS has such dedicated staff who are so concerned with both the academic excellence and non-scholastic activities as well. My son, who went to St. Jerome School for 8 years graduated last year and received merit scholarships and offers for admission to various high schools...BC High, Xaverian, AWHS, etc... My daughter has been at SJS since Kindergarten and is now in 6th grade. My children have been challenged both academically and spiritually and have participated in many of the extra-curricular activities offered at SJS such as Drama, ELF, The Honor Band Program, basketball, art, and Lego Robotics. Our Lego Robotics Team won several years in a row and made it to the State Competition at WPI!....What an accomplishment! We are extremely satisfied with the education and overall concern and care that our children have been afforded at St. Jerome School. Thanks to all of the devoted and hard-working teachers, staff, and volunteers at St. Jerome School!!!

This school is not for everybody! High teacher turnover and majority of teaching staff is under trained and very much behind the times in dealing with the kids and issues of today such as bullying. We found it a very bad environment, especially for boys. There was little positive reinforcement and all discipline and teaching styles are punishment based. Switched to public and found the education was behind at this school in every subject. We found much better resources and kinder, highly trained teachers in public. Saving tuition for college! I have thanked God every day that I pulled my kids from this school. 2012
