Caring and knowledgable teachers. Go above and beyond for each student, even outside of school. Lots of parent participation and support!

Lets talk about the positive. The curriculum seems to be challenging andbi have seen major advancements in my children. the school is very nice and out together well. They have alot of activities for the kids to get involved in. the now have a resource center and the woman running it is amazing. the program for kids with disabilities has helped tremendously, but i would suggest advocating for your child if need be to get what is best needed. On the flipbside bullying is totally out of control here. They have no idea how to handle racism nor do they feel it is even that important to make it a serious non tolerable issue throughout the school. if you have a child of melanin or mixed raced and want a school that has great academics it will be an upheel battle. Not for all but most certainly most. Not only that but bullying in general with white black etc....I believe it's a set in their ways get in where you fit in when it comes to this and when you push or press certain issues you than become an issue instead of the person trying to bring the gap. There most certainly needs to be more programs and courses for the teachers about this situation considering the percentage is 82-5 according to the stats on this site. It's a bit sad and disheartening so that's what you have to decide..... Good school good academics with social economical racial indifferences and bullying.

What is not to love about this school! Located between two subdivisions , you can’t tell it has been open for 10 years! The building is immaculate, the office staff is so kind, administrators care about the kids and the teachers are top notch! So glad we chose this area and that my kids go to this school!

AMAZING SCHOOL! I have 4 children who all went through TES and I couldn’t be happier. I wish they could stay there forever! The staff and teachers are wonderful and honestly it feels like family. the school is well run, clean, safe, has amazing technology, awesome extra curricular activities and the staff are some of the most loving giving dedicated people I have had the pleasure to meet. Once a wildcat, always a wildcat.

I have put 3 of 4 children through TES and my youngest will start Kindgergarten here next year. We have loved everything about TES and can’t wait for the little one to start her journey. It’s a newer school with great facilities and the teachers are amazing!

Thornwilde Elementary has been a wonderful experience over the last 5 yrs for our son. All the staff are welcoming and positive. All the teachers we have encountered are supportive and treats the children like their own.

Both of my kids had wonderful experiences at Thornwilde Elementary. The staff was caring and made a point to get to know my kids. I always felt like they had thing under control and my kids were safe. It is a beautiful newer building as well.

We have put our oldest all the way through TES and our twins are currently in 3rd grade. This school has been amazing for all of my children. One of the third grade teachers just won a "teacher of the week" award through all of greater Cincinnati. The Principal is amazing, the office staff know your child (and you!), even the lunch staff go the extra mile to make sure any kiddo who may need an ear to listen get that attention. We had, at one point, considered moving. We just couldn't imagine giving up TES because it's such a great place and surrounding community.

So glad we moved and no longer attend this school. My son with autism was bullied, and the teachers were not equipped to deal with children with special needs.

My daughter loves Thornwild I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the teachers and staff. The teachers are very engaged with parents and students.

They control the students here with so many rules, that I think it is a bad environment. Students are not allowed to walk siblings to class -reasoning is so that they can "challenge themselves". Students must put their head down on the table and be quiet after they have finished eating their lunches. The attendance policy is very strict, with a combination of more than 7 absences or tardies equaling a referral to court, and 3 equaling a visit home from a truant officer. Only 8 parent notes are allowed a year for student absences/illnesses. More than that are truant, or a doctor's note must be submitted. No tag(game) is allowed. Students are not allowed to play on the plentiful grass all around the school- just on the small playground/ small blacktop. No open toed shoes are allowed. I have received notes stating that snacks are allowed, and listing snacks that are not allowed -though my children have come home from school with the same forbidden foods provided by the school. There is pressure to bring children early, so the school can squeeze another 20-30 minutes of study time atop an already long day. It seems if they do not like something here, they will make a rule to stop it.

My kids had a great year at Thornwilde. You would never know the school was just opened.
