The principle Mrs. Freeble is a lousy principle which gives no care for student safety after two school safety threats and still holding school and plus found people to accuse without evidence on issues the school caused my stay here has been absolutely terrible though there are some good teachers.

My son just stated attending this school. His first day he was in the guidence councilors office so he was obviously late to class in order to get his schedule. School starts at 7:30am we were told to have him at the school at 8am. Why not bring him in at 7am? His first class was Physical Education. Hee didn't have PE clothes, because he obviously didnt know he would need them. His PE teacher told him to have a seat. He asked to use the bathroom and when he came back the gym was empty, no one was there so my son sat in the locker room. Waiting for someone to show up. The bleachers were pushed in. He didn't have any where to sit in the gymnasium. The next day his teacher was accusing him of leaving. Made my son stand directly in front of him and verbally abused him in front of the entire class. My son did nothing wrong. His incompetent teacher didn't give him direction. Later that day 2 boys got into an argument and one of them threw a desk and it almost hit my son. This is not a school that any loving parent would want their child to attend. Maybe this is normal behavior from kids and teachers here in Havelock. I don't want my children to be influenced by this. It's not normal and it's not ok. I'm honestly disgusted. My children will be homeschooling. Shame on this school and the teachers!

One of the best public high schools in eastern NC. Currently 10 AP courses are taught on campus with more available on-line. Good students excel here and some have gone on to great colleges such as UNC, Duke, and the Military Academies. Numerous athletic and Academic scholarships have been awarded to NCAA D1 universities. One of the top football programs in the state. Numerous recent conference championships in other sports including basketball, swimming, and lacrosse. Incredible Band and music program. National Honor Society, award winning student council program, and many other popular extra-curricular activities are available to all students.

I attended Havelock high in my senior year in 2012. I just want to bring everything from this school to my old high school. I wish I attended Havelock for all my education. I'm proud to say I graduated from Havelock, how can I bring this education process to my old high school? This is exactly what my old school needs!

Havelock High School has been an excellent high school for all 3 of my now graduated children. My children are young adults now; they are all successful and loved attending this high school. Two of them were awarded scholarships to the colleges of their choice, the other an honor graduate in the United States Air Force. This high school gave each an excellent education and so much direction and fun through excellent programs in band, sports, and guard, in addition to their academic classes. I could recommend more a wonderful place to raise kids and give a great start to youth than Havelock and its schools, including Havelock high school.

I am a Havelock High alumni and I graduated as valedictorian of my class. HHS was a great high school; the teachers and faculty were and are supportive, inspiring, and dedicated to their students. Many of them are still mentors to me that I feel I can always count on, and I will always have a home there. The band program is excellent; most of my favorite high school memories were made there.

Worst school ever. The majority of the teachers/faculty all act like they are in some sort of hierarchy. Staff treats students like toddlers but expects them to be adults. In my four years of high school here 2 out of 32 teachers (4 classes per semester) actually wanted to teach and enjoyed it. All the others hated their job and hated the students. I was constantly harassed over absences in which they wanted to suspend me? Because that makes sense. Ended up dropping out my senior year and enrolling in the community college to get my High school diploma (NOT GED!). Ended up blowing through that with straight A's and received my diploma 6 months before the school year was up. Overall this school is just horrible. If they could start worrying about teaching their students and not about which administrators have the most power than they would be fine.

Great school. Wonderful athletics, honors courses are extremely well taught. Above and below average students receive all the attention they could possibly need. The HPAC is the pride and joy of this school, they take wonderful care and host many great local shows.
