My daughter was a 6th grader this past year as she transitioned from elementary school to middle school. We have been very pleased with the teachers, staff, leadership, and the support system she has been given. They have pushed her and she has been challenged with her school work. These are tough ages for youth development and the staff seem to really care about guiding kids to making the right decisions and growing as people.

Harrison Jr School has been a wonderful school! The building is new and bright, teachers and staff are friendly and welcoming, and my child has been excelling there.

The teachers and staff are supportive and willing to help our students. One of our children requires accommodations and was given opportunities to be successful in his classes. There are so many different types of electives and clubs that both of our kids found avenues for them to fit in outside of athletic offerings. We look forward to our younger children having similar experiences when they are in middle school. We also like that there is a full time School Resource Officer in the building.

My daughter struggled with the transition from elementary to jr school. Her teachers were very understanding when I reached out with concerns and surrounded her with additional support. My daughter has been challenged academically while being provided with opportunities for social growth as well.

My kids love the atmosphere, teachers and activities that are available at the school. They have all thrived with the academics and extra curricular activities. The staff is very supportive and the new buildings are outstanding in supporting safety and learning.

Harrison's whole school district is very bias. They care more about what you can bring to the school and the reputation than the well-being of their students. Sadly it is not just students that bully children here either but also the teachers and faculty. Children have been known to spend time in hospitals or worse from the misconduct and irresponsible treatment towards the youth. The principal at the Jr. High is kind enough, however, he hands a lot of the tough issues over to his VP who is a very bias man who is not willing to hear children out but rather discredit a child who is suffering. My child has been bullied endlessly for years within this district and was told they had an open-door policy should we need to talk to them about the continued bullying. However, when we do go to them we are either silenced or ignored, only further adding to the bullying and mistreatment. I so badly want to like this school and its district as it is my alma mater however, the misconduct is sticking and unless your pockets are fat you will always be an outsider here. Now, this is not to say they don't have good teachers, there have been some great ones who worked with my children, however, it is very hit or miss and very very much a clique like atmosphere. This district's motto is, "Respect, Trust, and Ownership" which is great, now if only they could honor that same motto as they request their children to do.

Elementary school and high school are great. The ladies that work in the office at the JR high are rude disrespectful and I don't understand how they work around children- working with prisoners would better suit them

I hate this school so much, actually with a burning passion. I have worked very very hard just to switch school districts and I don't plan on setting foot near it ever again in my entire life. One example of the bs was forced to experience at this prison like school is my geometry teacher. I am going to retake geometry by choice because I was so ill prepared in geometry. He said out loud, to the entire class that the last time he did geometry is when he took it in high school. I'm not even joking. He also said while opening the online textbook that this was going to be the first time he saw the lesson. He reads the workbook out loud to the class and assigns the homework that's already prepared by the website. Every single person in that class knows that he doesn't actually teach the material. We have no idea what we are doing. At this school, there is no diversity. In all of my classes, there is only one other person of color. In the hallways, I often hear the n word, racial slurs, the fa word, and hateful comments. This school is also super clique and you will only be socially accepted if you are really athletic, straight, white, skinny, and rich. I can draw out a map like in the movie Mean Girls where all of the groups sit and draw a pyramid of how socially the school is set up. Also, sexual assault and harassment are very common. When someone I am close with opened up about her sexual assault to the school counselor, nothing was done. They told her that they would check the tapes and when they did they would call her back to talk to her. They never checked the tapes and she never got called back. The other student was never punished. I wholeheartedly regret going to this school and I would warn you never to go here.

I go here now and I plan on switching to another school. There is no diversity and the environment is overall very gloomy. We make jokes about how much we hate it. I don't like it here at all and have worked very hard to get out of the district.
