Fantastic school with teachers that care and support students. Love that students are constantly challenged.

The teachers take their responsibility seriously and from what I see do a good job instructing. One major gripe is, there is not a clear structure. For instance, there is no textbook for French or other classes and it to me as a parent where the assignments are heading or other resources. This makes reviewing harder. The wind band instructor/Jazz band is awesome.

Adams is amazing. We moved to Guilford to take advantage of the school system. I've had 2 very different kids go through Adams and have been impressed all the way around. The principal Mr. Regan is fairly new (I think he started in 2017). That was our first year there and he has been fantastic. Great with the kids and very involved and responsive to parents. I have been especially impressed at how well they have handled COVID distance learning. Not only did things run smoothly last spring but this year has been very successful. People have talked about homework overload. I found the homework load with my first daughter to be really tough but she has ADHD so it's always more difficult for her. My second daughter never has homework because she finishes it all in school. That said, teachers have been very responsive to each of our kid's specific needs.

The teachers give too much work. none of the teachers communicate with each other. All they do is pile up homework until you possibly can't handle it anymore. Last week, we were given two assignments, write 4 essays, 2 for science and social studies. All essays had to be atleast 5 paragraphs long One teacher. on 8.2 recently yelled at a students and said "GET OUT OF MY SIGHT I AM SO ANGRY WITH YOU." All the student did was check his grades on powerschool when another student was talking. He should have been paying attention. There is absolutely no reason to yell like that. In my opinion that is just over the top, i'm surprised no one has reported that, and if someone were to report it, nothing would happen no one cares at that school. It's all about passing, nothing is about learning anymore. The only good thing I have to say is that Ms. Yetso the social worker is absolutely fantastic, she helps me with mostly everything and the only reason why i'm getting through the school year is because of her. She is the only good thing about this school.

I attended the Guilford Antiques Show today at Adams. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the interior of the building seems to be in the process of being updated. When my daughters attended Adams, the place was in dire need of improvements, so it's about time! My girls loved their time at Adams and GHS. I always had positive experiences with the staff and administration. My oldest graduated from college with honors and my youngest is in her senior year at UConn. I'm a proud and happy mama! We are lucky to have such a great school system in our little town.

I had 2 children go through Adams who are now at GHS. Both of my children had a really good experience there. Although the building could use some updating, I found the teachers and administration to be a caring and well-meaning bunch. My son played sports and my daughter loved the music program. No complaints.
