Good school and good principal. Mr H is a local and knows / loves the school. He makes time for kids and parents. The school is properly sized unlike EMS which has too many kids. Teachers go out of their way to ensure our kids are being well educated. Strong music and arts program. Tennis courts onsite with food green space behind. The building is dated and will get renovated in the near future. Easy transition from Cos Cob for our kids who really enjoy their experience there. Finally, really good location and bus services so this is the district you want to be in.

This school has gotten a bad rap due to local politics, for those moving into the town.Cannot find a better principal to start off! Mr. H ALWAYS makes time & listens to students & parents! We liked that this school was not as big as others in the area. Teachers are caring & go the extra mile. Communication is good & we always feel welcome at the school. Our kids feel the same with the student population. The building does need updating…but that is true for MOST Greenwich school buildings! There is always something to go…sports, arts, clubs, and so on.We loved the “central location” of this school. Easy transition from the nearby elentary schools & just around the corner from the high school…EASY for busy families!Overall WONDERFUL experience with this school.

I would rate my experience at CMS very good, I loved my teachers, even if they got hard on me at times. What I find really nice about CMS is that for every grade level there are 2 “reams” of teacher. In my opinion this was AMAZING because it gives students variety. For example, my 6th grade science teacher was very hands-on and had a philosophy that the student should learn the info on their own, not have someone tell it to them. On the other hand, the other 6th grade science teacher followed the textbook very closely, and wasn’t as hands-on. I would also like to mention how willing the teachers were to help you, and would come in early or stay after school to help you if you needed it. I also loved all the different clubs they offered (for free) and how easy it was to start a club. Some of the clubs were: Debate Club (which takes part in a state-wide league), Robotics Club, Art Club, Homework Club, a LGBTQ+ oriented club, Game Club, and a couple other’s that I’m probably forgetting. I also loved how CMS offers intramurals, which is an option for someone who wants to play a sport after school, just not competitively. Some of the intramurals were: Tennis, flag football, basket ball, and a lot more that I’m forgetting. CMS also offers year-round competitive sports, which you will have to check out on their website. Some of the electives are: Health (required), PE, Digital Literacy, Seminar (only available to Advanced English students), Spanish or French, Consumer Science, and a couple others that I’m forgetting. The student-involvement in big school events such as the yearly play is incredible to me, any grade can audition but there is also back stage crew, who make the sets, control the sound, do the lights and the spotlight, etc. I loved CMS’s musical program, which includes a 6th grade Chorus and a 7th and 8th grade Chorus along with Grand Central which is an Acapella Chorus for any grade but is audition only. CMS also has a 6th grade Orchestra, a 7th and 8th grade Orchestra, along the Chamber Orchestra which plays at a higher level and is more select. It is open to any grade but is audition only. CMS ALSO has a 6th grade band, a 7th and 8th grade band , and Jazz Ensemble, which is open to any grade but is audition only. I do urge you to check out Central’s website if you have any questions about any topic.

My experience was very great and it was a fascinating time. I also had a major attitude change, and I now focus more on school!

Either my daughter grew up or the teachers in Central Middle School (Greenwich CT) are awesome. Either way, I noticed a remarkable improvement in my child's attitude towards school. She is excited to go to school every day, excited to learn, and she is now getting near all A's in every subject. The teachers at CMS, including their principal, really care about the 'individual' progress of my child. This is outstanding and an incredible testament to their hard work and dedication. Thank you.

my school is ok im not gonna say its the best cus then id be lying. most of the teachers are nice but some can be inapropriate. i would like if the school could have more other race people. and i'd also like if the school students could be sexuality tolerant. my school could improve by instead of saying DONT FIGHT BACK tell the teacher but that would only work in a perfect world but this isnt one instead DO FIGHT BACK.

Generally high quality faculty. Principal extremely responsive. On the downside, facilities are in need of refurbishment.

I just recently graduated from Central. The school's structure isn't that bad. There's drug deals and alcohol abuse going on throughout the school, especially in 7th and 8th grade that teachers are aware of. The academic program could be improved, especially in the math department. The pre-algebra/algebra curriculum is very lacking and basic. I enjoyed my science classes, but it depends on who you have. Teachers like Ms. Wollard do more hands on activities, which i enjoyed the most..consider yourself lucky to have Ms. Wollard. Other science teachers prefer to work out of the textbook. Social Studies was okay..however Mr. No was a wicked bitter man, and i believe every word i say about this. He was rude and mean to some students in my class that did nothing wrong. He picked his favorite students and did not provide help. Mr. Bally was fine. If your kid is good at learning languages then consider the AP Program, i took french and i found it easy yet challenging at the same time.I can't speak for the spanish department. However gym class was a joke.Consider taking consumer science, chorus and art. I loved Ms. Bird. I must warn you the school is divided by who's richer and the "bad" kids.
