The AIG program is worth its weight in gold. The librarians are a delight. That is all.

The principal and school board need to take a long look at the primary & intermediate schools. It is ignorant to keep over 800 at a primary school and 800 right next door. Apparently no one on the board or in an administrative role sit in traffic in the mornings or afternoons. If they did, they would rally for a change. Parking and timing need to be addressed. The size of the school needs to be addressed. The teachers need to learn compassion and show that emotion to their students. The only positive about this school are the test scores and that is thanks to the parents. I give little credit to the teachers and nothing to the principal. If I were you and looking at moving to this area, think twice about it and do your research!

Love this school, all her teachers really cared about her and did their best to help her. They were prompt to notify me when there were problems wth her behavior.

What a wonderful experience! Having been through both the primary and now starting on the intermediate side, I could not be happier. Coming from a much smaller school in another city, I was very worried about the size. But when I got involved with my children's classrooms, and some other parts of the school, I began to feel like the school became smaller and smaller every day. It no longer feels like a big school. Also, although AIG services do not begin until 4th grade in North Carolina, Wintergreen Intermediate now offers a "go grow" program which provides extra challenges to high performing students in lower grades as well, a benefit we have been so thankful for. Teachers there have done a great job differentiating between children and providing EACH child with what he or she needs. So thankful for Wintergreen!

This school is horrible. This is worst school I have ever dealt with and I have lived in multiple states and several different locations. The staff is arrogant, rude, and does a poor job of communicating. Some of the teachers treat students poorly. The education is subpar. For Greenville, NC this might fly, but this school is an example of the worst of America's public schools. I am desperate to save my children from it.

The school is good, but the SIZE is HUGE! Almost 700 kids in one building as of 2015. It's very intimidating for a young kid staring k-2 grades. My experience in Kindergarten was great, the teacher with many years of experience was excellent, and my kid really learned basic math concepts and reading at a 1st grade level in just months. The school have a very good resources, materials and a well equipped media and music center, but it's not enough for 700 kids. If you don't ride the bus the pick up / drop off area is very disorganized. And every time they have a special event or award it is a huge mess! When moving kids from one grade to another they just do it randomly and never keep the same groups from k-5. Every school year the enter like "new" kids in a group of 20-22 kids that they don't know at all. It's very hard and frustrating for kids to start a good friendship as part of their social behavior at that young age.

Excellent teachers. Very supportive. A lot of parental involvement. Students are treated as individuals and teachers work with parents to make them successful.

The school is a good school but they start on one subject for instance math two day on counting money then three days telling time. This could be very confusing to a child. They need to work on one until they get the concept.

We have had the best experiences with WGP and WGI. Our children are on the bright side and are put into all of the right classes and are doing wonderfully! I have nothing but nice things to say!

My daughter has attended 3rd-5th grade at WGI, and, overall, it has been a huge disappointment. We chose our house based on another school, and this was certainly a "bait and switch". We had virtually no problems with the other school. Fifth grade has been the absolute worst year of all here. If the teachers aren't just completely apathetic, they are malicious. Saying inappropriate things to my daughter in the presence of other classmates, having yelling/screaming fits at students, taunting them about not bringing their lunch. The implementation of a structured recess is an outrage. I completely agree with the May 25th post that the principal lacks fundamental communication skills and is an inferior leader. I didn't involve her in any of my concerns this year as I have only been met with apathy onher part in previous years. This school just really needs to "take out their trash"...the good aspects of the school are completely overshadowed by the unacceptable ones. My youngest child's last year of elementary school has been QUITE a sad one.

I have to agree with the original assesment made of WI/PS. A large part of the problem is the principal. Her social skills towards parents and staff lack the appropriate levels listening and motivation. She fails to create an enviroment which is fun to work in and it is being afforded by the students learning. As a parent of a special needs child, her interpetation of 'No Child Left Behind' laws is forcing my child ahead to keep specific numbers up and not allowing her to gain the education she deserves. My above average child is being forced to stay behind and bored because the school does not offer stronger curriculum to meet her needs and the principal failed to to attened a meeting about skipping her ahead based on testing scores (done by a private agency). The school has consistantly maintained lower testing scores for the past 3 years in math and is listed as a title I school.I believe new leadership should be introduced to correct the problem.
