I have had a child at Eastern since 2011. We have had a wonderful experience. My oldest has gone on to excel in middle school as well. My other two children wake up excited to go to school each day. They love their teachers and their friends. I could not have asked for a better experience for my children.

My kids spent all of their K-5 years at Eastern. The environment is warm and welcoming, although it is large in size it has a neighborhood feel. They were beautifully prepared to be high level students in middle and high school.

My child has been there for 2 years now and we have had an amazing experience with EES. Everyone is pleasant and amazing. Principal stands in the halls and greets each kid by name in the morning. We love EES!

it seems like reviews are fake and placed by teachers. i tried to meet with principal regarding my concerns and found no support! my son changed 3 teachers in the fall during his kindergarten years, so talk about consistency....ow my son has unpleasant first school experience

Love this school! Our family joined the Eastern family when my oldest started Kindergarten in 2011. My third child will in enroll this fall. This is more than a school it is a home. Teachers and administrators love the children and have a passion for their job.

I attended Eastern as a child and now we are so pleased to have our son in Kindergarten there. Under Mrs. Kirkland's leadership, everyone seems to be striving to work hard and care for each other. There is a sense of respect and compassion when you walk through the doors which is hard to come by these days. I am very proud to be a part of Eastern Elementary!

Principal Cathy Kirkland is the glue that binds! She cares deeply about every child, teacher and parent. Her superb leadership is reflected throughout Eastern Elementary.

I am proud to say that I have worked at Eastern Elementary for the past 25 years as an EC teacher. I have had opportunities to work in other schools in Pitt County, but chose to stay at Eastern because I believe that Eastern was and is the best elementary school in the county! I have two sons that attended and graduated from Eastern; both are now adults, but still have fond memories of their peers, teachers, and learning experiences while at Eastern. I have always and still think of Eastern as a second home and a place dedicated to education. Throughout my career, I have had the pleasure to work alongside numerous parents, teachers, staff, and administrators, and have realized that one goal remains consistent within all of us at Eastern Elementary, and that is to be 100% dedicated to our students' academic development and success! GO EAGLES!!!

Eastern is the best school I've had any contact with! I've worked at another school and Eastern is by far the best school in Pitt County! The building and grounds are clean, warm, and inviting. The teachers truly care about the students, and Mrs. Kirkland, the Principal is AMAZING! She goes to great lengths to make sure that teachers and students have everything they need to be successful!

I have 3 kids ranging in ages 9, 20 and 22. All three have gone to Eastern Elementary and I love it!! I would recommend this school to anyone. The teachers really care about the kids! If I ever have any concerns, I feel comfortable meeting with the staff including the principal. We have the rest of this year and then 1 more year to be a part of this school! Thanks for all the great years!!

EES is warm, inviting, organized and full of professionals who do their job; protect, serve, and inspire children. Administration is made up of shining stars in our county. Highly trained, qualified and professional staff leads in the classroom and community. When you travel the hallways you hear excited teachers, engaged students, laughter, music and praise. When my child is school age I will absolutely, without a doubt enroll her at Eastern Elementary School.

After many years of teaching in and out of NC, I can say that Eastern Elementary is a top notch school. In this school, our students come first. They are nurtured on many levels to make them independent thinkers and learners. We work as a T.E.A.M. to prepare our students for success. Many teachers work well beyond their school hours doing "whatever it takes" to ensure your child gets whatever they need . Just step down our hallways and feel the positive energy from the staff and the students. Our commitment to this school, your children, and the community is shared by all that work here. That s why Eastern is the best school in Pitt County!

I have been working at Eastern since I started my career as an elementary educator. I say at least once a week, "I love my school and the people I work with." The staff at Eastern is so loving and caring to every child that walks through the doors of Eastern. This truly makes coming to work enjoyable knowing that there is a sense of a loving, family environment.

It is unfortunate that a parent can give our school a "one star rating" after 3 days of school! They have no background knowledge about the policies we have to follow or the precautions that are put into place. Where is the parent's responsibility in discussing concerns with the teacher or administration prior to the first day of school? How could the school have any background knowledge about a kindergarten child when the parent has not communicated the child's needs to the teacher or administration? Our school is loving, caring, supportive, friendly and results-oriented. All school should strive to be like Eastern Elementary.

By far the best elementary school in the city. Ms. Kirkland is outstanding principle and the teachers are outstanding. I would not want any other environment or school for my child.

I am not only a teacher at Eastern, I am a parent too. This is my first year at Eastern after being at another school for 16 years. I love the positive atmosphere that has been created among the students and teachers and administrators. I am so thankful that I have a team that helps and looks out for each other. We also have the best interest of the children in mind. As far as my child is concerned, she LOVES being an Eagle. She has joined right in and is flourishing in a positive classroom environment. I am so glad I have been given the chance to work in such a positive school. When you walk in you will feel the love by just looking at all of the "family pictures" on the walls.

Eastern is a wonderful place. I have been nothing but impressed by the staff since the beginning of the year. I have two children at Eastern, one which is a Kindergartener. As a Kindergartener, my son has adjusted very well because of the staff. It is comforting to know i could walk my children to class each day until Independence Day. I love that the goal of Independence Day is set for the students to help them become more independent. After Independence Day, there was plenty of staff on Duty each morning who were more than willing to help students get to their correct destinations. Again, Kindergarten teachers helped ease students into the routine of breakfast as well. The first few days, the class went together. Then students were encouraged to go on their on. And once again, the staff on duty helped guide them too and from the cafeteria. It is frustrating to see or hear any parent "bash" the staff at Eastern when they work soooo hard and have each child's best interest at heart. The teachers at Eastern spend endless hours training, attending meetings, and preparing lesson plans outside of school, each of which is done on their own time and with no extra

My children absolutely love going to school. They are engaged and learning the 3 r's but also learning how to be part of a community and to work with peers to make their world a better place. The staff and administration have created a loving, safe, welcoming atmosphere. I love going to school to volunteer and always leave in a great mood - happy my children are where they are. Our teachers also use a wonderful method of teaching-whole brain teaching-that is unlike anything I have seen and I hope it spreads to other elementary schools as well as middle and high schools. We are so fortunate to be where we are. Eastern is our school!
