I sent my boys to Grattan Academy because of the smaller class sizes thinking they would recieve more help in class and was sorely disappointed when the opposit happened. Staff could be rude sometimes and it's a dumping ground for problem children. They have absolutely no help for children who need extra help reading or may have special needs! There's no communication between staff members and it's chaos trying to get a stright answer out of someone. I moved my boys back to Ellis and Woodview where they are doing so much better.

LOVE this school. I have a seventh grader that has been at Grattan Academy since 3rd grade. The public schools had very big classes and wore out staff. At Grattan Academy my child is excited to learn, has great teachers, and administers that are excellent. Grattan Academy is like sending a child to a private school without the cost.

Grattan Academy has changed drastically in the last couple years. It once was a superior academic charter school, but once they offered busing to the surrounding school systems, they became the dumping ground for every behavior problem for the public schools. They have lost numerous good families over the past 12 months. The teachers are excellent, but they can not control the classrooms when they have children screaming and throwing desks. They allow children with ADHD to wander the halls during class time because they can not control them and they do not have the resources to deal with special needs. Unfortunately the lack of leadership in the administration truly sets this school back. The Goodschools rating is spot on and I am happy to say I pulled my child out as of the 2014 school year.

Finally! My child feels safe while in school. After being bullied at the city schools, we put her in Grattan Academy. What a wonderful place for a child to learn! Great staff and wonderful leadership. Thank God for Grattan Academy!

My granddaughter received an outstanding education at Grattan Academy. She had very high ACT scores and has been accepted at Michigan State for this year. Thank you Grattan Academy!!!!

My 9th grader has been at Grattan Academy since Kindergarten! It is the best school around. It is like giving your child the private school education without the private school cost! Small classes, great education and no bullying! What more could you want for you child?

The academic rating of 3 out of 10 speaks for itself. Absolutely the poorest academic program around. And how do they get away with not even sending in the MEAP's last year? Teacher turnover is massive because teacher's are booted out constantly. Resource room services are a complete joke. Don't send your child here.
