I am very disappointed in how poorly this school year is for our daughter this year. Her teacher left in October and since then the class has struggled. The full time substitute doesn’t have experience handling a class and making sure students understand the curriculum before proceeding ahead. My daughter is so far behind we had to get a tutor to substitute the schools shortcomings. The tutor stated the school seems to move too fast before making sure concepts are understood in the classroom. We have asked numerous times for remedial classes to help get her caught up, but those requests fallen upon deaf ears. We have expressed our concerns to the teacher, principal, director and board and only get excuses or a lack of response. I know of at least six other sets of parents who are extremely frustrated this year and concerned. I feel the school is avoiding the very obvious issues especially with the loss of many staff members. I am biding time until we pull our daughter and place her in a different school, one that cares and supports our children. West Ridge fails their students miserably. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!!!

There's a joke online about how teachers won't care about bullying until the student fights back (because the teachers won't do anything if they are informed about the bullying.) Well later on in my years there that's what happened, an old music teacher frequently got mad and punished me for sticking up for myself and refused to do anything when I followed his advice and informed him about the bullying.Of course, that was one teacher, however, for the most part, they didn't like to take action. Thank god I have a therapist, otherwise, I would have taken other means to deal with the pain.

Generally, it has been ok.... For my student, who is very typically developing, it has also been ok. Some issues concerns me, among them teacher turnover...seems very high but i realize it is high everywhere. Hopefully, with a change in administration, teachers will feel more supported and respected and it will result in a better atmosphere for all.

The first year was OK. Second year was better but I attribute that to an amazing teacher, who quit. Third year was enough for us. Completely overwhelmed new teacher with no guidance and boy did the students suffer. We have not and will not ever go back. Which is sad because my kids made so many friends that still attend.

Our experience has not been good at West Ridge. Long story short, teachers should not be discussing their political views during class. They should not be teaching hate, or racism with comments about the color of our presidents skin (mocking him and calling him "orange"). I was shocked and disgusted to learn that my childs band teacher actually has a game he plays where he mocks our president with the students and discuss how "we like trump...just kidding". This is absolutely unacceptable and will result in a lawsuit if it does not stop immediately.

We have been attending West Ridge Academy for a long time (9 years), We attended when they offered pre-K (it is no longer an option today). WRA offers the best educational programs given by the most respected and educational teachers in the community. The 4th and 5th grade teachers (Schlagel and Potter) are so wonderful working with each student attending to their needs in helping them to gain confidence by giving the students the tools to succeed in learning so each student can be successful in life. The 6th grade teacher (Stuttler) teaches with compassion setting each student up for success. The 8th grade teacher helps the kids transition into high school and is amazing helping her students in math, She truly is one of a kind! WRA also offers Latin to educate our kids by learning the fundamentals of other languages. They also offer an amazing band program by Cory Swift.
