You couldn't ask for a more caring school staff than you will find at Granby Elementary! I have children who range in age from 23 to 7, and I have nothing but great things to say about our experience with the teaching staff at Granby Elementary. The school is a poor school, and the teachers are not well respected or paid by the upper administration. However, the teacher's deeply care about all of their students. They take care of each child as if they were their own. If a child is hungry, they buy them food. If a child has no good clothes or shoes, they buy them new ones. If a family is struggling, the teachers step in and help out. They spend numerous extra hours tutoring children who are struggling. They are the most caring staff I have ever experienced EVER!!! Their leader, Ms. Augspurger, leads the way for this caring environment. I would highly recommend Granby Elementary School to anyone and everyone! The teacher's definitely make up for the lack of ipads and student laptops!

I have not had great success with this school. My son has had numerous problems with other children bullying him. He has gone through major depression and due to the stress has lost 15 lbs. I have spoken to the principal regarding these issues and nothing has been done. The last time I spoke with Mr. Drake I was informed that he wasn't aware of the situation, despite the fact that I have had repeated conversations with him on the phone and even sent in letters trying to get the problems taken care of. My son has suffered at the hands of other children in a school system that is supposedly a "NO TOLERANCE ZONE" for bullying. I find this to be a joke. I believe that when you are in a position of authority over children that the best interest of the children should be the first priority. I do not feel that this is the case in this school and I am very disappointed in the lack of handling this situation. My son deserves better accademically. These issues have caused his grades to drop and his work to suffer. Something needs to be done in this school system. I am sure that other parents are dealing with the same problem.

Granby Elementary and Middle school are fantastic. We recently moved here, and have received nothing but an amazing welcome. My youngest child had a hard time adjusting, and Ms. Ausburger came to his classroom herself to comfort him. I am pleased with class size and most of the teachers. I do wish there was more parent involvment, but it seems that the school is trying to remedy this. I would proudly recomend this school to anyone.
