I’ve had two children go through Legend Springs. In both cases they received excellent education, and I’m glad they’re incorporating technology and music as a part of the experience. But since my second started there has been a huge increase in bullying and violent behavior. My daughter told me there were kids using the ‘n word’ and nobody did anything. I also wish there were more diversity.

I have been a Legend Springs parent since 2017. Both of my kids have attended this school since PreK! I can’t recommend it enough. From the highly supportive, caring, effective, and dedicated teachers to the attention this school gives to the emotional intellect of children... it’s wonderful! My children love going to school and they really love their teachers too. I can see a passion for learning growing more each year in my kids and nuances in their character that I know came from their time so far at this school.Mrs. Basl is an incredibly involved Principal. You will frequently see her at pick up and drop off waving to students and parents. She is very personable and approachable, and she communicates weekly with families via email. This school has four special areas for students to attend as well - Art, PE, Music, and STEM! With so many things being virtual (which this school also handled very well) there is a good balance of hands on learning too, in specials and in the classroom. I’m relieved to know my kids aren’t always on a screen but when they are it’s very purposeful for their learning. There is so much I didn’t get to say. It’s a remarkable school. You’ll have to come and see it for yourself!

I wrote a long review but it was lost due to a connectivity issue. So this one is more brief. If I were to describe our experience with this school I would say outstanding. We have 3 children at LS right now and have a had a total of 10 years worth of education at LS. I could not be more grateful for the experience that LS has provided to my children. Of course their test scores absolutely blow away the state averages, but their focus on building strong character is just incredible. My son won the kindest kindergartener award a couple of years ago and I'm still just so proud of that. My oldest regularly achieves straight As and I credit both of those things in a large part to the staff at LS. The kids enjoy school, they love their before/after care programs and the just love their teachers. The youngest has a more strict teacher this year, but even she is a gem. I often worry that the quality of the school is actually too high and may not be preparing my kids for adversity well enough. What a problem to have right?? I mean I am extremely discerning when it comes to the care that my children receive. And while the last school the kids went to (Haley elementary in Gilbert, AZ) was also an excellent school, I truly believe that this school has it figured out. It started with Ms. Minor as principal and has carried over to the new principal; they hire outstanding and dedicated teachers and they give them the tools to succeed. Almost all of the parents and children we've grown to know or interacted with feel the same way and we're happy to have such a close-knit community that supports one another. I could go on and on, but it's not a surprise that LS receives a 10/10 score on Greatschools. It is certainly deserving of that rating.

Average due to the lack of communication from the teachers.

The principal, Mrs minor, makes safety and school unity a main priority in addition to education. The kids and staff love her and there is a happy feeling throughout the school. It is evident that the teachers invest in all their students and do their best to ensure their well being and personal progress with positive encouragement. My two kids love going to school and love their teachers. This community is proud of this wonderful school!

Our daughter has loved being at Legends Springs from 2nd to 6th Grade. We all actually cried the last day of school because her time there is done. The teachers are wonderful, so nurturing and involved in the students. The SAGE program is outstanding. My daughter loves learning & is so inspired by her teachers. They've instilled an amazing work ethic and kindly taught her to push herself beyond what she thought she was capable of. The music and band program are amazing! She's thrived in Chorus and Band. I highly recommend LS. The kids are gradually taught to take on more and more responsibility. I really fell she's ready for 7th grade. I can't say enough about how much of a family the school, kids, teachers and parents are. It's been a wonderful experience!

I have had three children attend Legend Springs. As a school it has only become better and better. The new principal Mrs. Minor has implemented a lot of new programs and outreach to the parents. The teachers are the core strength of this school. They are well trained, caring and always easy to reach and responsive. Without the support of the teachers my children would not have been as successful moving into junior and senior high school. The school has a strong focus on science and technology, which I find appealing for my children. Great school!

This school is amazing! Everyone in the front office is extremely helpful and eager to assist with any concerns. The principal is wonderful and very supportive to ensure the success of every student! The nurse is equally amazing she ensures all students that take medication, do so in a timely manner. I completely trust her with my son and I feel very strongly about having a compassionate nurse on the staff. Additionally, the teachers are OUTSTANDING, all of them genuinely are there for the love of teaching our precious children. Thank you Legend Springs for all you do!!

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! The office staff is very welcoming! Anytime I come in with a question or concern they are more than happy to assist me! I received my tour from Jody. GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE SCHOOL! I left there very confident my child was going to succeed! My daughter absolutely LOVES this school and all of the staff! I am SO glad I chose this school over all the others I was looking at! When I was a child, the only time you would see the Principal is when you were in trouble! At Legend Springs anytime there is a school event, Principal Minor is always there to cheer the children on! The amazing support these students have from the staff just warms my heart! My child's education is very important to me and the progress my child has made since the beginning of the year is ASTONISHING! If you are considering taking your children to this school YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

2 years at Legend Springs and I can say it is amazing! The teachers, parents, and especially the new principal are all wonderful and extremely dedicated. It's a great school on an even better upswing with Principal Minor at the helm. It feels more like a family. Kindergarten was great, but 1st great has proven to be fantastic. Mrs. Levake is a caring, fun, dedicated, and highly involved 1st grade teacher who goes out of her way to be in communication with parents on a daily basis. Students as encouraged and rewarded for their participation in outreach programs and helping each other. Legend Springs is a gem of a school! You can't go wrong. Art, PE, Music, Computers, and Library are integral parts of the curriculum alongside Reading and Math, so far. Extracurricular activities abound and family events have a great turnout--fun festival, family movie nights, father-daughter dance, mother-son bowling, turkey trot, etc. The PTA teacher involvement is strong and parent involvement is growing. The words I would choose for Legend Springs are: enthusiastic, focused, dedicated, resource-savy, technologically competitive, excelling, and caring. Our kids love going to school!

I have three children at this school and it is FABULOUS! The teachers are invested in what they do, they teach with excellence, and they really care about the students. They encourage parents to be involved in the education process, and many parents enjoy volunteering in the classroom, in the PTA, and at special class parties or fieldtrips. There is great communication from the teachers (I get a weekly email from each of my children's teachers about what topics they will be learning the following week and any upcoming classroom activities) and they respond promptly to email. The school spirit is fantastic - there are flagpole celebrations most Friday mornings, which also feature a short musical performance by individual students or even entire classes. Everyone, from the principal to the academics teachers, specials teachers, nurse, and admin staff cares about the students and works to build a positive, encouraging learning environment. Good character is both modeled by the staff and reinforced in the students. It is a FANTASTIC place to learn! I am so thankful for such a wonderful start to my children's educational experience!

My daughter has attended Legend Springs K-6 grades and is graduating this year. The amazing level of care and professionalism of the teachers and support staff is off the charts! My daughter has a love for school and learning because of the great attitudes of the teachers and I'm forever grateful for the wonderful foundation my daughter has. I would highly recommend this school for any parent who wants the best school in the district. Our new Principal has brought a fresh and welcomed perspective with her positive energy and support of the staff :) Our PTA has been so supportive of supplying our classrooms with technology. Perfect blend of parents and teachers working together for the benefit of the children.

Our children have been attending Legend Springs since 2009 via open enrollment and we have had a very positive experience each year. There is a new principal for the 13-14 school year and I can say that the change in principal has been a wonderful thing and very refreshing. She is visible, out and about and making a strong sense of community. It is great when the kids are coming home and talking about how they want to "Be Legendary". Though we never had any issues with the previous principal. We did lots of research before selecting this school, looking at and comparing it to many of the local charter and private schools. We could not have asked for a better environment for our daughter and son. The teachers here truly do make the difference and the gifted program is hands down one of the best in the state. Parent involvement could use an increase in support. Like a previous comment stated it is one thing to write a check and another to give the time. However, this is a great school and as in every school there is always a down cycle before new blood steps up the plate when it comes to PTA!. You absolutely can't find in our opinion a better K-6 school in the northwest valley.

I can not agree enough that it is the best thing for this school that the principle is retiring. I volunteer often at this school because of the lack of leadership from this principle and have seen first hand a few of the BAD APPLES. My child is a good student but it is common knowledge the many problems and the lack of community and leadership that is lacking at this school. There is little support for the PTA. Anyone can write a check but there needs to be involvement. I would like to see the district review the teachers without repercussion and implement what they are doing right in other schools. The teachers are the best tools that we have. The responsibility for a school can take the life out of anyone. A GREAT ADMINISTRATOR will see when it is time and put the students and school first. And the time was years ago for this principle.

I cant say enough positive comments about Legend Springs and we could not be happier with our choice of open enrolling our son at Legend Springs. We checked out many schools, including charter schools and picked Legend Springs b/c of their AIMS scores, rankings, technology and resources, etc. We did not know very much about the teachers, but were told they were excellent....and what we learned this year is that this could not be more true! My son has had the most dedicated, creative, and inspiring teachers we could have asked for- Mrs. Barbee and Mrs Packer, but you could not go wrong with any of the 4 kinder teachers -Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Gordon as well. They work as a team to provide the best possible experience for your child. Not only are they very strong academically, they make learning fun and challenging and instill self esteem and values. They use the latest technology and learning techniques and are always striving for the best exp. for your child. They welcome and appreciate parent volunteers, and I truly enjoyed being in the classroom each week watching my son's progress. It is only 2 days into summer break and my son misses school...need I say more!!
