St. John School although a Catholic private school, is welcoming of any and all faith denominations and those without any beliefs. The teachers and support staff whom also are not all Catholic are very understanding and supportive of all of the kids that attend. My children have grown up there and they’ve become some of the best people you would ever meet. If you have younger aged children and are looking for the best local school with a low student teacher ratio, please set up a visit to St. John and see what they are all about. There are tuition waivers and reductions available for lower income families and it is a very private process. No one knows who is getting reduced tuition unless they tell others about it.

Have had kids here for the past 10 years with the exception of last year when I homeschooled. There is a reason my child is back at this school. If it was a bad place, we would’ve made a different choice.

My daughter has been at SJS for two years. I have always appreciated how supportive of an environment they creat for my daughter and myself. They communicate very well which I appreciate. I wouldn’t send her anywhere else. We love this school!!!

My children have been at SJS since 3y pre-k . They have thrived and grown so much in this amazing little school. For any family looking for a personalized faith based education where your child/children will grow both academically and spiritually look no further than Saint John School in Georgetown. Bonus- Amazing teachers who care about the student over test scores ! The new campus is great and the small classes truly make your child’s learning experience positive and enriched.

I have had children at St Johns for over 10yrs. It started as preschool only, with a plan to go to public school after that, and we never left. My older child has transitioned to public high school seamlessly and is excelling, especially in Spanish and algebra. We love the small class sizes and family environment that SJS offers. I also love that they still teach cursive. The new school building and open green space at cardome has been a wonderful addition. We have managed to stay open for in person learning despite COVID and without any problems.

My kids love this school! Everyday they're excited to tell me what they've learned. The teachers are great. These are small classes that really let my kids thrive. The school has been great through the pandemic. They are doing everything they can to keep our kids in class, healthy and learning.

This is a wonderful school. From the office staff to the Principal and all the Teachers I have encountered with 3 boys in school there I have nothing but positive interactions. We are not Catholic but my kids are learning about God and that is never wrong. It is a caring environment and they always think of the kids first. They try their hardest to make all the COVID craziness not seem so crazy.

We came to St. John School last year due to public schools being closed for COVID and the need to have our 4th grader in school while we both work outside the home. It was suppose to be one year and back out to public school. Then we fell in love with school. My son begged me to go back the following year. Now we’re back for year two with one in 5th grade and another in Kindergarten. They learn so much more than at public schools including lots of things that public schools have stopped teaching or don’t teach until later grades (spelling, typing, cursive, Spanish) My kids will both finish out 8th grade there.

Wonderful school! My children experience a high quality education and are surrounded by caring and compassionate teachers and staff. I am so grateful for the community that we are a part of at St. John School.

I was frankly shocked to see the negative review from 2020. I told the SJS parents group on Facebook about it so I expect a flood to come in now. My children have been attending for a few years now and we're also members of the parish. I'm continually amazed and thankful for the staff at St. Johns. Geez I'm about to cry here but they've helped us so much over the years on so many levels. They've supported us as frazzled parents and the staff have all been so wonderful to us and to our children. Do we have occasional differences with the teachers? Sure, that happens sometimes. I got really annoyed when the pandemic first started because I was trying to work, manage my four children, manage my husband's new long-term illness, AND use my brain to figure out how they were doing schoolwork in my youngest daughter's class. But we got through it. Everyone could probably say the same thing no matter what school they're in. The lockdowns were terrible for everyone. We love our school and we're super thankful for everyone there. We like the new principle, too! I was kind of grumpy about there being a new principle but he's just as kind as the one who retired so I had nothing bad to say at all and we've enjoyed getting to know him. Because of the pandemic, I lost my job at one point so our kids had to skip a year. My youngest son hated homeschooling so he just refused to do anything for almost the entire time. The stress of not being with his friends and going to school made him really sad and he lashed out a lot. We weren't sure what to expect when he went back. They got him right back on schedule and he's catching up very rapidly thanks to their special ed teacher. She also worked with his speech therapist. Above and beyond the whole way.I genuinely recommend this school to everyone. Even if you're not Catholic give it a try. You won't find nicer staff anywhere and the fees are very reasonable and worth every penny for a solid, quality education.
