They don't have a science department. This is NOT the school to take your kid to. Good thing if you have a peanut allergy. They can cater to those children, but not any child who has ADHD, Autism, or any other disorder. If you expect to send your kid for science, that would be a big ZILCH. My son's GPA is not so great without science. How can you have a school that doesn't or refuses to have a science teacher? Ugh... I hate this school with a passion. They don't have the appropriate teachers dealing with Autism, ADHD, or Anxiety. Please look elsewhere, if you can.

I have two children who attend Garth. My oldest is in 5th and my youngest is in kindergarten. My 5th grader was diagnosed with ADHD at 6 years old and has been thriving on his 504 plan originally established by his K teacher. If it hadn't been for her keen observation and loving guidance, he would've fallen through the cracks. Each year (with the unfortunate exception of 3rd grade) he was blessed with a teacher that gently instructed and inspired him. He was surrounded by staff that encouraged him to succeed at a comfortable pace. As for our one unfavorable year, he was placed with a teacher that was unable to leave her deplorable attitude at home and almost caused a catastrophic setback to his progress. However, when I brought this to the attention of school administrators, it was handled quickly, professionally, and without further trauma to my child. He actually enjoys school now and expressed a bit of sadness at the prospect of leaving Garth for middle school next year. My youngest has been given the gift of having the same K teacher as my oldest did. He's already reading at an accelerated level and I'm excited to watch him grow with Garth's support. I'm so appreciative of the substantial foundation for learning my precious boys have received from each and every person involved in their respective learning processes. I'm confident that they will continue to thrive. I can't recommend Garth highly enough!

I could not be happier than our experience with Garth! My oldest went to K & 1st in Lexington where there was little teacher/classroom interaction for the parents and the office was cold and impersonable. We moved to Georgetown two years ago and found what I wanted for my children at school, the staff is very kind and involved in the lives of the children, the office staff and most of the teachers know each child by name, treat each child as an individual not just another student and welcome parent/family involvement! Thank you to the Garth staff!!!

This school has been in business for over 80 years. It is truly a neighborhood school where teachers care about the students and families. It has a diverse population and is an inviting and caring place.

My children have received a wonderful education at Garth. My oldest child, who is now in High School, ranks high in his class, received a high ACT score while in middle school, and has received the opportunity to travel across the world because of the foundation that he has received. The teachers are caring, concerned, and very supportive in each child's education.
