Poor. We do not like the school but we are stuck due to districting. We are looking at private school but that’s out of the city limits.

1/10 This is coming from a former student. Looking back I realized how awful this school is. I was bullied every single day with no help from the one counselor we had. The teachers left students behind quite frequently, if they did not understand something it was their fault. There were fights at least once every week. Just terrible.

Great job welcoming new students and making sixth graders feel comfortable.

GMS gets a bad rap even though other schools in this area have the same common problems or worse! Being in middle school is hard enough as it is. GMS has always taken care of my sons. I have a son with a disability and they are great with him. The counselor is very nice and she works with you on the 504. The office personnel are very nice and pleasant to be around. They take good care of my son even when the nurse is at another school. Parents who rate this school badly must have went in with a bad attitude in the first place. All staff have treated me and my kids with respect and whenever a problem has arisen, it was taken care of quickly. You cannot blame the typical middle school behaviour on just one school, they are all like that. They have some real caring teachers in this school!!

I'm going to be straight up with you about GMS. I personally enjoyed my year here but let's say it's not for the faint of heart. There are definite cliques at the school which I guess is good and bad depending on how you look at it. There are a decent amount of fights and detention is packed every day. Other than that your going to have a nice time, the teachers are great, the food is decent, and the the faculty are great. If you are trying to decide where to send your kid this is a good way to find out which is best for you, if you want a more laid back, hard nose, cool school go to GMS, if you want close to a military school however good education go to rsms, and if you want GMS but with hicks and better test scores go to scms. Be warned your kid will get their chops busted for a bit in high school for going to royal springs XD. Hope this somewhat helps, and GO BUFFALOS
