Judith Resnik Needs lots of changes Number 1 the school is old and falling apart, so we are in 2024 Why are there still portable classrooms Come on catch up, Resnik needs to be rebuilt, the school is very old. Number 2 Administrative office needs to change Resnik needs a new Vice Principal and Principal. Special Ed at Resnik does not even exist, very poorly handled. There should be some accountability when teachers lie on report cards and put something there that is incorrect for example reading level when the student is below reading level you don't put above level that is misleading. and wrong that actual happened. Number 3, MCPS as a whole is totally Flawed, I would say about a good number of current students are struggling with at least one subject or more. Resnik blames that on Covid and that is so not right it is not Covid the reason is MCPS pushes lesson plans though too fast and some students needs extra time or help to understand what they are learning. Try to get any outside tutoring is impossible. DO Not go here if you can move do it. Advancing students to the next grade who are not ready should not go but MCPS says its ok let them fail not our problem.

I absolutely love this school. My son enjoys going to school everyday. The principal, teachers and support staff are very caring and respectful. The PTA is very active and have tons of events for the students and staff throughout the year. I am so happy to be a part of the Resnik family. This school deserves a higher score.

I have twin boys in 1st grade and we just love this school and community. The staff is fantastic. The teachers we've had so far are kind and easy to communicate with. The therapists and aides have also really impressed us. Resnik is one of two schools in the county that have the Physical Disabilities program and they do a great job. My son gets physical therapy and occupational therapy as part of his day. His aide is helpful, and encouraging without babying him and she is teaching him how to speak up and advocate for himself. The school is ethnically very diverse, which I think is fantastic... kids should learn beside and befriend other kids who don't necessarily look like them! There are also a number of kids with disabilities at our school as well. Another great asset, if you ask me, since it teaches kids that we're more alike than we are different and just because someone can't walk or talk, they are able to learn alongside you if they just do things a little differently. The PTA is really active and puts on lots of great community events and has used the extra funds to recently purchase chromebooks and promethian boards for the teachers. Anyway, we really like the school!!!

My son just started 3rd grade at this school and has been here since Kindergarten. He started out as an IEP student, requiring occupational therapy and speech therapy. Their special education department is superb and they helped him tremendously with his anxiety during kindergarten and 1st grade. He ended up no longer requiring services, but the staff is very accommodating to anything that he needs. I am very impressed with the principal, who was new when we first started 3 years ago, and the school staff works very well together.

Judith A. Resnik is an awesome school. I have two kids that attend (kindergarten and first grade) and I can see that they are learning a great deal. The staff is very caring, observant and just overall awesome including the Principal. I am blessed to have my kids attend and can't say enough good things about this school. Please raise the rating because this school is awesome!

This is a wonderful little school with an active and engaged PTA, an experienced, creative, and friendly teaching staff, a very diverse student body, and a young, energetic principal who cares deeply about the children. This school was constructed to accommodate disabled children, which is a blessing for those who attend for that reason, and a blessing for the rest of the students who are exposed to a variety of disabilities early in life. This exposure, and the friendships that result, teaches the children to have compassion, understanding, and acceptance of peoples' differences. I have spent a fair amount of time in this school as a substitute teacher and a classroom volunteer and have seen the highly structured system they use, and the solid values they teach. I adore this school and am so thankful that three of my children have had the honor of attending.

My son attended kindgergarten last year at Resnik and will be in first grade there this fall. The school has excellent teachers and a great staff. I was pleased with what I saw every time I entered the building-great organization, students on task, and teachers and staff working hard to provide a quality education. The curriculum is well thought-out and clearly communicated to parents. The principal and vice principal are respected and admired by the kids, and the leadership works well with the strong PTA Resnik enjoys. I'm glad my child is a student at this school.
