This school has gone downhill over the past 2 years. Poor leadership from the principal. Terrible hiring practices. Unqualified, low qualified, non fluent English speaking teachers hired to teach AP classes, coaches teaching AP Classes so as the students are not prepared for AP exams. Minimal oversight on teachers. Teachers creating their own policies that are not compliant with district policies. Students that want to eagerly participate in sports are discouraged by coaches behaviors, tempers and failure to follow district policies about training in outdoor heat in access of 100 degrees. Coaches pick and keep "favorite athletes". The tryouts are just to go thru the motions to keep an" appearance of fairness" Some Clubs are fictional on the website, where most don't exist, the ones that do exist are disorganized and poorly run (teachers canceling last minute and late to their own meetings). The school is absolute garbage. Support staff are a joke and the counselors have little knowledge on how to advise the kids. Parents and kids will get the runaround if asking questions. If you are new. Good luck to you and your kids finding out when anything happens. The school staff will tell you sign up for Twitter to find out. For the amount if taxes to go to this school, save yoreself the grief and go to another district l together. #LCISD IS GARBAGE.

Honestly the school isn’t that bad all around. But I personally think this school is terrible. The people only wanna be cool, and coming from another school I didn’t feel welcomed. Don’t transfer here

We're new to the district. We were worried about the change for my daughter. It was helpful to know there's so many more new students due to the new communities. The staff pleased us so much! With all they have to handle with so many new changes all at once with more than one new community blew us away. From front office, the officers, the counselors, and the reports back my daughter reported back about her teachers (and the students she described as very pleasant from all backgrounds) has my heart in a very great place. My daughter love how they teach, the counselors consistent communication and so many more things she loved more than the school she just left. I know nothing is perfect! Nor will I ever expect it to be, but I can say this school has greatly exceeded my expectations. We come from a very strong district CFISD that she excelled in. So it means the world to see how happy, but yet challenged she feels. Wishing everyone a grand year!

I have found my experience as a parent that for the most part the administration is pretty transparent, minus one incident. The school/district never sent a notice regarding a student make threats to specific kids, they quietly moved the student out of the school and into another school in the district since the student has a parent that works in district. I do find it alarming that they pick and choose what they want to let the community, parents/guardians know. I did speak with a specific administrator regarding the issue several times and unfortunately they were unable to release any information to anyone because they are not the "big boss" so their hands were tied.I also know that there have been several incidents of fighting in the bathrooms, as well as kids bringing vapes, and knives to school and nothing has been done to stop it.I will say this though, my student has an IEP in place and I have found that teachers and administrators are extremely helpful in staying contact with me regarding my child's plan and what can be done to help them stay on track and be successful.

Overall this school is decent. I find that many of the students that attend aren’t friendly, but you can still find people that make your highschool experience great. The rallies are not the best, I believe they will become better over the years, but that’s really up to the students. They definitely need a bigger area to hold the rallies though. I’m going to into my senior year and I’m truly excited to graduate and leave my Highschool days behind me. You don’t have worry about bullying if you just mind your own business and you don’t let people think they do or say whatever they want to you. Some of the teachers are really trying to educate the students here while others will just give you a passing grade. In order to get the teachers that will teach you most and be in a environment where all the kids aren’t fooling around I definitely recommend taking AP classes which I have done throughout my 4 years of going to the this school. It’s a great place to find likeminded individuals that want to educate themselves and are not just trying to take the easy route in life. Cafeteria food is nothing special but they do have some decent options at the lunch line you just have to know which one to pick. School spirt definitely needs more participation amongst the students (buying school spirit should be easier).School Dances are pretty decent as well. Fights are not common but will happen once and awhile due to the kids that like to fool around and do dumb stuff. Just stay away from people you don’t wanna surround yourself around. All electives are good just make sure it’s something that you think you will be truly be interested in so you don’t just brush off the class it’s really disrespectful to the teacher. At least try to put in some effort into the class and not just put your head down the whole period and expect your teacher to pass you. If you are really interested in the class and feel like you could get more from the class by playing fun little mini games or learning the material in a different way talk to your teacher. In conclusion, just mind your own business to avoid bullying, take ap classes to get the best possible teachers, participate in school spirit, and try to be as respect as possible to everyone even the people that you think don’t deserve it. Make sure to study for SAT’s and AP test for college. Some dual credit classes are harder than AP classes. Also note that your grades don’t make you just do your best. H.S. only comes once so do everything

Over all poor school. students behavior goes virtually unpunished, there’s been multiple bomb and shooting threats made by students and discrimination is huge here. advanced classes that’s have teachers pick their students always ends up with the “favorites” that they already know, counselors try the best they can but it’s over crowded and i can’t remember the last time i’ve had to do work in my english class. Teachers don’t care about students who want their grades better and need a little extra help to learn, some even laugh at students who ask for help and i’ve had to reteach a lot of topics to my fellow class mates. i’ve been called slurs and heard horrible names and cat calls be yelled at students, and not a single thing is done about it. if i could rate the school a zero i would

Very enjoyable learning experience. Making friends was not hard and teachers gave me enough knowledge to pass their class with an A+.

Personally i dislike this school. It’s very small town inclusive and I feel as I don’t belong since I am not originally from here. The teachers are 50/50 on their teaching ability. I feel as some are very good at their job, others don’t even stand up from their chair the entire year and refuse to do any more teaching than to flip through a powerpoint once
