The teachers are really nice, and the lunch is really good. The lunch line isn't as long now because the 6th graders have moved in. Although it still is very crowded, I feel that I have more freedom during socials and lunch periods.

There are so many people there everyday! In the morning when I get up, and go to school, cars are filled in causing a traffic jam. When I finally arrived at the first period, my teacher was very nice. All the teachers there are nice. But there are like 3 problems I have with Thornton. 1. Bathroom In one of the bathrooms I went to, some of them do not even have toilet paper! (the old ones) and also, they have no paper to put on top of the toilet. 2.Students Students there are nice, but some are not nice. So be careful! 3.Lunch lunch has only one line. It´s so long!! Plus we only have 30 min to eat... The good thing about Thornton is that school ends early. Minimum days end at 12:23. (I think b/c I can remember.) Regular days end at 2:23. School ends in June I think.

The school is very welcoming, the students very friendly and teachers are extremely caring and encouraging to the students. As a student who has just passed 7th grade, I have made friends easily and have become close to all the teachers and supervisors. I am glad to have come to this school that has excellent facilities and have learnt many skills, not only in my studies, but also in other forms.

There was a childs name graffitied on school property specifically stating F the child with first and last name with gang related signs. Instead of informing the family because at this point the child could be in danger and announcing it to all the families that this is not tolerated, they just cover it up as if nothing happened. What’s even more dissapointing is the principal did state to the mother that it could have been anyone that they were referring to because there was no last name. That’s funny becuase there is videos of it specifically stating the first and last name and the fact that everyone knew it was about this kid and not the principal clearly shows how much she truely cares about these kids and there safety. Clearly gangs and deragitive name calling is aloud on this campus and they will not do anything about it but cover it up. This school is a joke.

The teachers are very nice and bullying is minimal at this school, I feel like this school should receive a higher score

I feel that the bad kids are too much and dominating Thornton Jr. High. And some of the teachers are way too nice; therefore not teaching us anything.

I go to this school and it is pretty good. The times are weird tho, like 31 minutes for FLEX period and 41 minutes for lunch

School does nothing about the bad kids. Makes the school a toxic place to be in. Teachers are good, but other administrators are terrible.

Thornton is a great school with excellent teachers and bright students. The school offers many extracurricular activities and excels academically with above 900 API. I don't have any hesitation about sending my kids here.

I love this school. The faculty is fantastic. Mr. Hicks and Mr. Pabley are wonderful administrators!

The school colors are black and yellow like actual thunderbolts in the dark. The school year so far is the very best. All the teachers just know what to do.

I'm a 7th grader In Thornton and is almost done with the school year. Thornton is actually an amazing school.I am an all honors student. My history, math, and science teachers In my school are really nice and work hard to get one on one time,to make homework seem less difficult to us,and to make sure we all learned the lesson before we go to the next one.My math teacher is going a couple chapters ahead of the other classes, and my science teacher is the only teacher in the school that make us do the science fair, and the other teacher don't do it because they feel that their students don't feel prepared. PE is OK, but its English that troubles me the most. My teacher is alright, but she doesn't teach properly. She doesn't give one on one attention and she doesn't give any examples or a throughout explanation of what we are supposed to do. I suggest if you like arts and crafts, take calligraphy. she barely teaches calligraphy and mainly teaches art. The real arts and crafts teacher retired in the middle of the school year, so now we are having a sub come in each day and after a few months a new one comes in.By the time your child might come to Thornton,a new teacher may come.
