Worst experience ever!! Luckily my son was only there one year and I was able to do an out of district transfer. If you can don’t send your kids there!

My oldest son attended Irwin from 3rd-5th grade and my middle son is now attending in 2nd. The school is great! The principal and school counselor are very approachable. Irwin has some really good teachers as well. I love how large the library is also. I also love that they now have a courtyard to go to after lunch. And, of course, I am happy to bring my kids to DODEA schools rather than local county schools. The PTO here is wonderful and does some great things for the students. If I were to change anything, I would like to see more recess and more clubs (but that is a common thing missing in a lot of schools).

My son attended this school for 3rd and most of the 4th grade. He has physical disabilities and had to have a major surgery while he attended. The teachers and the staff here were absolutely wonderful and made sure he had all his work and he didn't fall behind. They really went above and beyond while for my son on more than one occasion. They do have different programs for kids who may need a little more help and those who can accelerate. My son started Spanish in the 3rd grade which I thought was excellent that they offer 2nd languages that young. We miss Irwin and would recommend them to anyone who wants their child to receive a good education with staff who cares.

Irwin Intermediate has been great for our family. My child attended 3rd, 4th and now, 5th grade, here, and there is not a single teacher that I would label as a "bad teacher". The principal is very easy to approach. The school has gotten better about student involvement with clubs and parental involvement each year that we have attended.

My children attended Irwin 2012-2013, 4th & 5th Grd and 2013-2014, 5th Grd. The front office staff is amazing, knowledgeable and experienced. Irwin encourages parents to be involved at the school, and with the PTO. Gifted Education, Art, PE, Music and Library Center have wonderful Teachers. The guidance department are involved with the students, with AM announcements, character building, Mustangs welcome, anti-bullying, meet with students weekly. Military children have more stress with parents deploying, multi-moving, and Irwin understands this. Special assemblies & Award Ceremonies encourage students to excel. Teachers I have know are wonderful and really love their job. It's all about what you put into it.....be involved in your child's education.

My son came from a very good school in SC to here Irwin. The administration was on point if making him feel welcomed. He was failing in his other school but came here and brought all but one grade up. His teacher was absolutely wonderful. She stayed in constant contact and I never had a major problem with my sons behavior.

I think that the principal and some teachers were great at this school. This school promoted and facilitated parental involvement. Unfortunately, some teachers didn't seem to like children and I thought they treated the kids like they were in a youth detention facility instead of a school for kids. I was also very disappointed with the education opportunities for children that were capable of doing advanced work. This is a safe school.

Worst school and teachers ever!!!! If your child acts like a child, or has any trouble learning new concepts, or needs extra time to complete work. Then this is not a good fit for you! If you child sits in class, but then doesnt stand in line the right way, or messes around at the end of a long day then chances are they will be labeled as the "bad Kid" . They wont offer any assistance for kids who struggle in school and then wonder why the kid is messing around instead of doing work!! i would avoid this school at all cost, unless of corse your child is perfect!!! my child is not stupid, lazy or mean, yet they have managed to destroy self confidence and kill any enjoyment of school!!! wonder how long we will spend picking up those pieces!! i have never seen teachers so unwilling to help students and work together with parents before labeling them and washing their hands.

My son has had many great experiences at Irwin. The teachers and administration have been very supportive during my husband's deployment.

I attended Irwin Middle School for both 5th & 6th grade, & I am now a rising junior. I must say I didn't so much like this school. I had a lot of problems with the lack of organization in the class room & saw very little discipline. Also, I don't feel like the school provided a very good academic foundation for my high school years, especially in math. They have a really good art teacher though :)
