We have had two kids at FHS and our experience has been stellar. The teachers are so communicative and truly want kids to succeed. Extracurricular activities are top notch! We have had no issues!

Before considering this school, I do feel that it is only right to make all potential students and parents aware of the everlasting and ongoing bullying problem. I attended this school years ago, and have been personally informed by others that not only does the problem remain, it has has gotten worse. It's simply the culture of the school district. There has been at least two suicides due to bullying, and even the police have had to get involved to attempt to address the problem in recent years. As far as the comments regarding the high quality of AP/Honors classes offered...? I was in all AP classes, and years later, I found many of my fellow classmates never did ever attend college, but found themselves to be teen moms.

I am going into my junior year at Forney and my experience has been extremely difficult. I came to this district as a freshman from Colorado and there was little to no feeling of welcome in the community. The school has a serious problem with cliques and exclusion. I'm sure that it has a lot to do with the fact that it is a small but quickly growing town and the kids have known each other since kindergarten. They are not used to new people, let alone new people who are actually successful in the school. I am part of the volleyball and softball program. The volleyball players are more cliquey than most sports, and the only exclusion I have found in softball is all initiated by the coaches. They are very set on winning, and they do it well, although they give little wiggle room for any connection to be made between them and their players. My experience has slowly gotten tolerable, with people finally making an effort to get to know me. That does not take away from the fact that a lot of kids here are not very welcoming. I am almost wholly Italian and my last name shows it... Many teachers tend to make fun as if they have never seen a person with a last name that isn't Smith or Stewart. It gets uncomfortable and I can only imagine what some other kids who have more different ethnicities that set them apart. Even though I may have made this school sound like a nightmare, it does have it's perks. My favorite thing about Forney that I find unique is that they have career pathways. You choose a career path, and you take a four-year course of different classes that specifically prepare for your career choice. I am in Health Services and the courses are Principles of Health Sciences, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Practicum in Health Services. I feel very prepared for my career choice. I can't complain about the sports because our facilities and equipment are above average and something that we are very proud of. Our teams for the most part are very successful. Our softball team just won the 5A State Championships. Our band and fine arts are also above average. The school system has some holes with recent drama within the soccer program which ended up with some coaching replacements. This school is great if your priority is education and athletics. If you're priority is a welcoming and easygoing social atmosphere, this may not be the school for you.

Instead of whining about my life like other reviews, I'll actually rate the school and teachers. The teachers are great and care a lot for students. I'm involved in many activities. It's nice that there are so many activities and clubs at our school to be a part of. Those are only made possible by the awesome teachers that work before and after school to make sure we have those groups. There is a lot of support in playing sports AND in the classroom. I scored very high in my testing and I wouldn't have been able to do that without the awesome teachers here. I graduate in about two weeks and I'm ready for college. All of my teachers and coaches are the ones that got me prepared and gave me confidence.

I graduated from this school in June of 2012. I attended this school district starting in 2nd grade. I used to enjoy going to school in Forney, until I got to high school. Obviously high school in general is going to get a bad rep, but I absolutely hated going to school here. Some of the teachers were good, but most weren't. There is a HORRIBLE clique problem, which made is difficult for me to keep friends! I was involved in so many activities but lost friends because I was friends with other people. I understand that's a typical high school issue, but its horrible here. Also, there is supposed to be a dress code here. I can almost guarantee that 50% of the kids here don't go to class in dress code. The dress code consists of polos, khaki/navy blue/black pants, belt, closed toe shoes. A lot of the kids wear hoodies (wearing t-shirts underneath rather than polos) and black pants (yoga pants, leggings, etc.). As someone who attended this school and got in trouble for wearing a maroon polo instead of red, I think it's completely unfair for kids to get away with this. All in all, I did not enjoy attending this school. I didn't learn much while at FHS, and do not recommend going here.

I have a hard time believing anything written by most of the people that have written a review on here. The use of the English language by people on this website, and specifically this school review, is appalling.

One of the most disciplined schools I have seen. Student dress code is exceptional, saving parent's money and creating uniformity. Teachers demand a lot from the AP students and regular students alike. INCREDIBLE fine arts programs. State competitive band. Talented choir, art, and theatre program.

Can you say bullying? We moved to Forney for a good school . From Kindergarten up we have had some minor issues with uniforms, student drop off chaos, but never did we anticipate fighting with the High School to help us stop bullying! My child has continuously been verbally harassed by peers and a coach. We have brought all of this to the principle s attention but have been told they can t do anything about it. My child was physically attacked by another student and there is still no regard to the issue at hand. Bullying is being tolerated and escalates to physical altercations. How many fights can you count in a day? The lack of concern from the administration is appalling. We are trying desperately to get out of Forney High School. If you are considering relocating to Forney for the school district, please reconsider (or teach your child how to fight)! Check out Sunnyvale or Rockwall/Heath.
