At Blackburn you are risking your children well being.They may get burned.The bullying here is real. Their policies need updating on how to keep kids here safe.They need metal detectors here the some of the children are very violent and threatening.This behavior has to be addressed.Please put safely policies in place to ensure all our children are safe.

This school and at least 1 other nearby have a bad bullying problem. I have kids in 4 out of 6 grade levels here.Teachers basically tell parents that ----"that's just Johnny" and remove the victim from the class (remedial class), or tell the other child that the bully threatening to stab him/her just has no filter...….and doesn't ensure the bully is getting help so they don't harm someone.I also have kids with special needs (inclusion) and their needs are being ignored and child is just being accused of rushing through or not paying attention --- when they clearly aren't understanding the work.

This school is an experience not just an environment. We moved our boys to this school last year and have nothing negative to say. The teachers go above and beyond daily and the learning environment is exceptional. Do NOT look at the low rating that this school has from others from years past. Things have changed in the most positive ways possible!

My son is going into the 3rd grade this year. He has gone for 1st and 2nd. I must say the absolute best part of this school for us has been his teachers for both 1st and 2nd. AWESOME! The one down side in Forney is how snooty the kids seem to be. If you didn't start Kindergarten with these kids, they seem to ignore which is a sad reflection on their parents. But the school itself has been great!

This is my son's first year at Blackburn and he had a great experience. His teacher was very supportive, encouraging and helped him improve his grades. He seems to have more confidence now than ever before.

I am not impressed by the Principal and some of the other staff. I am pleased with my child's teachers but they are overshadowed by the negativity emitted by others in the school. If I could transfer my child to a new school, I would.

I have a 1st grader at Blackburn and we love it there. We have a new principal this year and we couldn't be happier. I am very impressed with the teachers and everything about the school! We wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

My children have attended several schools in Forney. Blackburn has had the best and most supportive teachers. It receives unwarranted bad press. I couldn't be happier with the education my children are receiving there!
