You can’t get someone to care. My child was being abused and bullied by other students and he cried and was begging not to take him to school because of the bully and he’s only in first grade. His teacher didn’t care to do anything. And when I report to the school they didn’t care as well and didn’t offer a solution. I decided to move my house to a different area so I can take my kid out of this school. Later on the year few days before I change his school he had an award ceremony. I attend the award ceremony for my child and every time his teacher walks by my child would be terrified. Until now to this day my child is still traumatized and I have no idea what happened in school, and what has happened to my child that he got so scared of school, when he used to love going to school. No one cares and no one will offer to even help. If you want your child in a safe school and coming home safely without any injuries and without any trauma then go to a different school. This place is terrible

I believe the teachers and staff want the students to succeed since they are the future generation. However, just recently I experienced a different view when the principal refused my child's teacher to sign the permission slip for my employer's event to bring your child to work day. I guess they are more concerned of the number of students that attend because, it would affect the attendance record if they allow my child to spend a day with me at work. This is a good school, I was just baffled to hear the reason why the teacher wouldn't sign the permission slip. No worries though, I believe my child would love the experience of it. Consider it like a career day.

I have put my kids thru this school. My son is graduating this year and my daughter currently attends D.W Long. It has great teachers a lot parents help with the P.T.O and it is clean. I have no issues but the picking up and dropping off. Every school is the same so there is no issue. This school focuses on reading my kids have learned a lot. Thanks for everyone that makes this school fantastic!

Concerned teachers and staff. Push the children to be and do better, while also encouraging well rounded activities and fun for the kids.

I read another parent's review about picking up children is a nightmare. Yes, that can be true. It's usually due to the fact that parents are usually impatient, inconsiderate of others, and not following the rules. Come on parents...our children are watching us and looking to us for guidance. That being said, every school is busy at drop off/pickup. If you wait ten minutes most of the traffic will be gone. The school and its administrators are NOT responsible for parents actions.

Unfainess is very common everywhere, and when you least expect it, teachers leaving children unatended to cover other asigments is not good at all. Anyway, picking up your kid is a NIGHTMARE.

It all depends on which teacher you get. If you have an issue with anything, though, go to the principal, not the assistant principal.
