This school will be the reason my child, and myself, will be in therapy for years. Gaslighting, bulling from the staff and other parents, mistreatment bordering emotional abuse. I can’t write anymore it is too upsetting. If you are considering this school I would take into account the negative reviews. They are the real ones.

We enrolled our older son at SJND for his first year in TK, and we absolutely fell in love with it! Now, six years later, both of our sons attend this school, and we couldn't be happier with everything they experience. Every teacher and support staff member has gone above and beyond to educate our children not only academically as students but also as disciples of Christ. Teachers are not only knowledgeable about their craft but are also caring, kind, and supportive. Every teacher sends out a weekly newsletter with updates and is always available in a timely manner for questions. The school offers a wonderful curriculum that is engaging and challenging but also meets the needs of those students who may require additional support. Not only do students learn the basics, but they are also offered additional opportunities during their school day including STEM, fine art, music, PE, and library. There are a multitude of additional opportunities outside of regular school hours including athletics (basketball, volleyball, golf, flag football, track/field, cross country), choir, theater arts, diocesan academic competitions (Aca Deca, Religious Bowl, Mental Math Bowl, Speech Contest), robotics (junior, middle school, and Hydrogen Grand Prix), and Guardians, a fraternal group for young men 5th grade and up. My sons are thriving academically and have grown comfortable in and proud of their Catholic faith. The community is always supportive, and there are plenty of opportunities for families to get together and for parents to volunteer their time and talents. I always feel seen and heard by not only other families/parents but also by the administration. My husband and I love attending not only social events such as Oktoberfest, the Auction and Gala, and monthly parent meetings, but we also enjoy the opportunities for growing in our faith through school-wide book studies, prayerful speakers, and weekly school Mass. SJND goes above and beyond!

This is our 2nd year at SJND and we love it! Our goal was to make church and school our community and that is exactly what has happened. Parents, students and teachers were so welcoming and supportive of our family after moving from out of state. We appreciate the Catholic centered learning environment and the communication/support from the teachers and staff. My son loves the stem and art programs as well as the robotics and little dribblers after school programs. I feel very grateful to be a part of an amazing school program and Catholic community for not only the growth and development of our boys but for us as a whole family.

I completely agree with the previous review. This is a private school, not a Catholic School. They do not practice what the preach in any way. The school is full of misbehaved bullies and if you speak up or ask for anything to be done, you will be on the outs with the principle and staff. The school is constantly asking for money and that is usually the time you will finally see the principle out of his office and engaging people. Outside of that, you will rarely see him. There is very little community building with the parents. There is nowhere for you to voice opinions or find out what's happening at the school. There is a small parents group that has meetings, but it is usually just the same couple moms, drinking wine and mingling with each other only. After attending once and realizing it was not like a PTA meeting and really served no purpose, I did not attend again. As far as the Education, They do not offer any foreign Language; they offer very few extra curriculars and what they do offer is mediocre at best. The Athletics are ok but lacking and while some of the teachers are great, the rest of them seem very uninterested in their job. I strongly suggest touring other schools in the Diocese or even other schools in the area.

Would not recommend this school to anyone. The school is the epitome of what’s wrong with society. It’s a private school not a catholic school. Unless you have no problem with bad behavior being accepted and bad words being a normal thing.

I experienced racial discrimination from the principal. When I told him that I wanted to go to public school he sent me an email with an article about how Hispanic students perform worse at public schools. The thing is these kids were from low income, and I am definitely not because of the absurd amount of money I spent towards this school. So beware of the stereotypes and racism that you or your child can witness at the school!

This is our first year with a child in Kindergarten. So far, it has been an excellent experience. Even though our child had some unique needs, they were addressed discreetly and compassionately. There were other children who had other needs that were similarly addressed. The children absorbed Catholic spiritual teachings from the beginning, with mass attendance, religious education, and outreach (for example making sandwiches for the homeless or Lenten projects). At a time of budget cuts in the arts, there is an amazing art program and yearly musical. There are field trips and visits from guests such as the Discovery Museum. Academically, there were opportunities for independent learning in class (reading groups) and out of class (math and reading web exercises). The parents and children live their faith through their sense of community in times of crisis and joy.

This school does not have enough resources for attending to needs for student of higher academic needs or resources to help those whom need extra care and raised up. They want straight down the middle. Bullying happens there as well...they seems to not have staff to bring the ones left out in. Principle is not flexible. My child was targeted because he seemingly did not fit their rigid ways. Too bad we had higher hope for a good catholic and private education. Very dissapointing.
