My child attends the Horizon Program in the school since 5th grade and he is now in 8th grade. My child has received a lot of support in all the areas, he has improved tremendously, in his social -emotional and academic skills, as well as with the additional services of Speech, PT and OT.

The effort the teachers put in is extraordinary. Throughout the years our experience has been nothing less than excellent.

Wow, what to start with. Here's the short story: don't bring your kid here. I was brought here in 6th grade for the Nest program for the 2018-2019 school year, as I have High-functioning Autism and my previous Nest experience at PS 186 Castlewood was amazing. The Nest coach did NOTHING for me and my friends on the spectrum, the speech teacher was ineffective, the principal could care less when I was bullied (as did the rest of the school), the "dean of school culture" was an absolute joke, the music program is just laughable, the kids are stuck-up and care about nobody but themselves and their posses, and it was overall just horrible. It changes kids, and if they stay, they turn bad. I'm not the only one who thinks this, the few friends that I did have there (all but one real friendship lasted) thought this also. I left the school after one long, long year, and I am at MS 74, which is an AMAZING school. Please, save yourself and your kid, and don't come here. Don't let the fake smiles and lies fool you, because it sadly fooled me and my parents and we severely regretted our decision coming here.

Our experience at this school has been a terrible one. The students are intimidated by the Principal and other administrators. They need training/coaching in how to speak with children as well as parents. They could also use literacy training being that the graduation program and graduation tickets had many spelling errors! Absolutely shameful

Don't go here! I'm telling you now, I'm warning you! All the good teachers left and the new principle is very strict. The deans sometimes bully the kids when the deans think that the kids are doing something wrong. There is no clubs, no doors in the classrooms in middle school level. The rooms are so hot during summer because there is no ac.

I think to make a statement about a school having to many sticks because one kid got suspended for a 1 week for throwing snow.. when we do not even know the real story is a stretch. My husband is a high school teach and I can tell you that students lie/bend the truth all the time about what happened in incidents at school

My son attended this school from kindergarten through middle school. He graduated with average close to 87%. In general, I am happy with the school deans and teachers; however I noted a drop in school quality for past 2 years. I may be wrong but it seems that the school is being managed with constant threat of punishments rather than a combination of carrots and sticks! I had a hard time asking my son to maintain respect for school authority when he and some of his classmates were unjustly punished with one week of office detention for throwing snow at each other after school, outside the school yard.
