This website is highly inaccurate within the advanced course section. There are International Baccalaureate classes offered at Wilson, so most students don't take AP classes, other than as electives within IB. The IB students enjoy their courses and make excellent grades. The traditional school program is below average, yet the IB program is exemplary.

This website is very inaccurate as it completely disregards the IB program. The school is very informing and it has taught me a lot. The quality of the school has went up drastically since the last reviews.

As an IB student, I can say that this school is far batter than what many people around the Florence area make it seem to be. Once most IB parents see the area of town it is in, and the amount of black students there, stereostypes and assumptions are automatically applied. This school is not dangerous whatsoever. Since the new principle came in, behavior and illegal substance usage has drastically improved. The first year i attended there was a fight every week of the first semester, now i have not seen one fight the whole year. Wilson has the best school prode and most active alumni in the florence area. During homecoming time, wilson is the only school in the area in which the tiger flag is proudly seen all throughout each section of florence, unlike west or south florence high schools. Suprisingly, west florence high school has a higher drug problem than wilson, being as the students there are more wealthy, being able to afford and get away with more and more things. Wilson has been dominant in the florence area academically, with evidence coming from the winnings of our academic challenge team. Think twice before negatively judging WHS

We want this school to succeed. The teachers do their best with limited resources. We also look forward to what the new principal can do for Wilson. A missing component is parent involvement. I never could find out when the APT/PTA met. The whole school can get back to 'Great' with improved leadership, support from the community and an inclusive environment.
