In addition to the remarkable staff and curriculum, one of the most remarkable aspects of our children's school is the sense of community it fosters. As a parent of three children who have attended this school since preschool, I can confidently say that this is one of the best schools in the area. The community here is amazing - everyone is friendly, supportive, and welcoming. The teachers are highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated to their students. They go above and beyond to ensure that each child receives the best possible education and support.

Worst experience ever! My kid has been traumatized for life from this school! Teachers and management are clueless and they do not care about the well being of the kids! There is racism and bullying all over the place! If you care about your kids please take them to another school!

My kid attacked this school since K. It's not a traditional school, you don't see any black or white board in the school. They teach students with project based projects and used technology for assistance. My kid loves to go to school and learn how to solve problems with creative way. Highly recommended!

I have had two children attend this school. It was a good fit for one, who only attended for a year as they graduated a year after our move to town. The open, flexible environment was fun for my more free-spirited social child. This child became friends with a good group of kids (friendly, and the type that really cares about doing well in school) which was highly beneficial. My other child is much more structured in their approach to learning. These classrooms (in all grades) are so loud and distracting, sliding glass doors separate the classrooms. Who thought that was a good idea conducive to learning? The school is a very difficult size as far as student body; in some ways it is too small, in other ways it is too big. Whoever designed this school did not plan for the future. The classes are busting at the seams, yet, the student body is too small to hire the teachers needed to provide proper electives that you would expect at a good middle school. For example, only a select group of kids are welcome to take the ONE Spanish class they offer. No other foreign languages, one Spanish class for SELECT 8th graders only. The middle school student population size is too small that typical middle school social behavior becomes toxic quickly! The principal does not have a good grasp on how to handle behavior issues. They have an ICAN program that the principal seems to be simultaneously really proud of but also doesn't like to talk about. As far as I can tell, this program is for students that have behavior issues, but according to my kids, these kids seem to get a free pass and treat others cruelly without consequences (why I gave the school a poor score for safety). My kid had a student with behavior issues in PE. The student got frustrated and lashed out physically at my child. The child that lashed out seemed to have no consequences and continued in PE with my child. We asked admin about the incident and they sort of brushed it off explaining they have a special program. My kid did not feel safe in PE for the rest of the year. If you are considering this school, ask LOTS of questions about ICAN. Don't be satisfied with the type of vague answers you get from a politician principal. This school benefits from a great community of families that are invested in their kids. They never seem to be at a loss for volunteers and donations. Most of the teachers at this school are really invested in making it a great place.

The teachers and administrative staff are all really helpful. Even though it's a newer school compares to many in this area, they have shown continuous progress in academics and other cocurricular activities. The amount of clubs are still less co pared to other schools but in future hopefully more of that will be seen. Academic wise my kids are doing well. Teachers are very helpful and comfortable to talk with.

My family is beyond thrilled with our decision to move to this neighborhood for Meadowlark. We have been in several schools in the area and Meadowlark is on a different playing field. Yes, their test scores are some of the best in the state and yes, my kids get individualized attention and instruction, but it really comes down to my kids having pride in their education and school. This school is not an open concept model. All teachers take ownership of your child. I feel like when we drop them off in the morning they are going to a place that not only adores them but sees them for who they are. As a former educator, I am blown away by the amount of time and effort the teachers put into innovative projects, lessons and small groups. Way to go Mavericks!

We wish we would have pulled out of Meadowlark our kids earlier. Our ADHD child was singled out by teachers and other kids as a joke more than once. Teachers group the ADHD students together neglecting their needs. They were not prepared for high school one bit. Our other child is progressing much better at Erie middle school. Splitting them across different school districts is a worthwhile challenge for their future. This class needs better structure, discipline and routine. It’s a madhouse.

Both of my daughters have attended Meadowlark School. We wish our son would have had the opportunity to attend this innovative, project based learning school. We have found our daughters to be incredibly prepared for high school. Most importantly, they have tremendous leadership and social skills. Meadowlark has also developed their confidence and public speaking skills. We couldn't be happier with the teaching staff and leadership. Every question we have ever had has been immediately addressed to our satisfaction. It is also an incredibly positive and fun school community.

We have had a great experience at Meadowlark since we moved our two kids here from out of state, during Covid no less! They have both grown tremendously from the school’s focus on social learning and the teachers caring style in drawing out the interests and the best in each student! My eldest has participated in the compacted (accelerated) math program and has loved the challenge! We look forward to our youngest participating as well if determined to be ready for it this year! That said, there are so many other options for his many interests, we won’t be fret if it’s not for him.

Meadowlark is our second experience with a Project Based Learning curriculum and it works well for our children. The teachers and staff have been terrific. Principal Caldwell is a good man and a dedicated leader - we’re very happy with our experience at Meadowlark.

My granddaughter's reading level upon entering the 5th grade was found to be that of a 1st grader. This was her only school.Took three years for Meadowlark to figure this out. My grandson has mild autistic issues which created kids singling him as different (bullying in the 21st century parlance much like "new math") since he was the common denominator, he must be the problem. As a proud parent of two young mavericks, I could not be more impressed with Meadowlark School. The teachers are talented, knowledgeable, dedicated and caring. All of them chose to leave their previous schools (many of which were within BVSD), to come to Meadowlark. From the parent perspective it is evident they are the best of the best. They go above and beyond to build relationships and make connections between home and school. I am amazed at how well they know my children and see their individual strengths. They create learning opportunities that are meaningful for students and most importantly foster a love of school.

Our family has been to several schools in BVSD and this has been by far the most responsive and positive experiences. I live in the neighborhood and any time you see lights on and people working at 3:00 am you know the staff is doing everything in their power to make your child's experience special. The rigor is so far above and beyond what is expected. My kids are bummed for Saturday and Sunday when school isn't happening. Thank you for making a difference Meadowlark!

Dedicated teachers, wonderful support staff. They help guide children to think critically and problem solve, rather than teaching just to pass a test. My child is challenged (in a good way) and gets the right kind of guidance he needs. I am especially impressed with the dedication of all the teachers and staff through COVID. They did their best to make an abnormal school year as normal as possible for the students. Very happy my child is at Meadowlark!

I have 2 students that currently attend Meadowlark. To say that I am impressed would be an understatement. The staff clearly works tirelessly for the students and are continuously going so far above and beyond other schools we have attended in the district. My kids love every second of school and we feel so blessed to have this gem in our community. Both of my children started below grade level and are now passionate learners well above where they need to be. As a parent, the love of learning fostered here is all you can ask for. Our family has been involved with Meadowlark School since it first opened 4 years ago. It has a wonderful community of students and our daughter has formed many genuine friendships with students across grade levels. The teachers at Meadowlark are incredible and this past year was a testament to this. They come from many other schools (mostly within the district) and work hard to make learning not only engaging but meaningful to students' real lives. Meadowlark is not designed like a traditional school but rather in learning communities. At times students move flexibly with other teachers but it is not done in chaos but rather with great purpose. This opportunity provides teachers the ability to meet students learning needs throughout the entire day. My daughter has thrived because of the students and staff at Meadowlark School. She has grown academically, socially and most importantly loves school. We can't wait for another great year.
