My decision to enroll my son in this school was based on the high scores on this website but perhaps I should have paid attention to the 3 reviews instead. Yes, a good percentage of the teachers are downers. At least compared to the Elementary school teachers, most who seem to take delight in their role. They do almost all the lessons on an ipad, even the assignment my son was assigned about the hazards of too much screen time. Yes, seriously. Just about everything is on the screen at this school. For a class lesson, the students are assigned a video to watch and then answer some questions about the video, while the teacher surfs the internet. Very inspiring. Let's hope the High School is better.

The iPads are slow, computers would be faster, better, and cheaper. The food is terrible. The pizza is like eating cardboard. They give us milk that is chunky. Homework isn’t as bad as other schools. 40% of the teachers are always grumpy for no reason and are short tempered. There is not much opportunities for leadership at ESMS, which is why I am rating it 2/5. Lots of the students have strong relationships. The learning differences between students attending ESMS is very different and yet they still don’t improve on helping some students that really need that extra help. They spend all there money on VR headsets so the 6th graders can “experience Rome” when they could spend the money on more resources for students in need or better school lunches. The bullying? They put up posters about cyber bullying and suicide prevention around the school and expect that to change the students. I do not recommend this school.

Teachers and faculty are wonderful and caring. Mr. Rabiei is an enthusiastic principal. My son is enjoying his experience at ESMS.

We are not from El Segundo and my daughter just finished 6th grade at ESMS. She had a wonderful and challenging school year. The teachers were great and she learned a great deal, especially how to study and care for her work. We are looking forward to our future years there.

We have lived in ES for 13 years and the quality of the education and staff support/involvement is amazing. My daughter is in 8th grade and has many needs that require extra effort and patience from the staff. They have all been consistently supportive and caring and they genuinely care.
