    1) How they treat kids with disabilities is completely unacceptable. I could write a book on this, but I won’t. 2) Parents are constantly asked for money but you are not included in anything unless you are part of the “clique.”3) Communication is severely lacking.

The principal at this school showed total disregard for the feelings of my child, who has a disability. She has exhibited extremely questionable behavior on more than one occasion. Her actions have directly caused mental anguish to my child, and caused him to miss learning time in the classroom. She has no place working in a K-2 school and should be removed from her position.

This school is the worst school in district 7.

LeClaire has a been a disappointment from day one. A majority of "indoor recess" days are spent watching non-educational cartoons (e.g. Chicken Little)in the gym or classroom. Even the kindergarten music class spends music lessons watching youtube videos. The security is lacking at best. Many days the little ones are walking in to the school completely unwatched. More than once I have entered the school to pick up our child to find the security guard's desk empty and me left to wander the halls. The principal seemed to put more effort into winning a social media video contest (which she did so kudos there) than she does ensuring the safety and development of our children. There is no on staff music teacher or librarian and many of the recess monitors are parent volunteers.

If I could I would give NO STARS, Edwardsville District 7 does not care for special needs children. I fought for 9 years for an IEP for my child and they blew me off every time. Made me feel I was in the wrong for even fighting for one. My child is mentally ill, needed extra help for years and showed signs of Dyslexia. Nothing not one thing was EVER done for her no matter how much I fought. We had 1 great teacher and that was her best year. I give that teacher 5 stars! this school ZERO. The district total ZERO. Couldn't even verbally get in contact personally with Ed Hightower. Was told to write a letter. A LETTER.....REALLY. something that could be dismissed and thrown away. Don't let the rating's fool you if you aren't part of the 1% you aren't important at Dist 7. THANK GOODNESS WE MOVED! My Child Went here K-2nd and was bullied about being fat and started starving herself. I was appalled at what little was done. AND please explain to me why there are book fees in Dist. 7 when the books are never new? There are still books being used from the Early 90's. Where does our $ GO?!

I agree that this school is definitely not the best in the district. The staff is a very unprofessional, gossipy bunch. I was appalled by their behavior and the fact that they would bad mouth their students and parents behind closed doors. Ugh! It's a shame too because the other schools in this district are so outstanding. I guess there is a black sheep in every bunch.

We choose this district because of the high ratings. I have been really disappointed. A lot of what my children learned this year they had already learned the previous year. The school is not family friendly. I could not bring my toddler to school parties, or field day, etc. Having lunch with my child was just short of a nightmare. They take few educational field trips. I cannot wait for my child to start a new district next year.

Wonderful principal, very involved and loves the students! Building and technology could use some updating. Great experience for K but made it a few months into 1st and removed my daughter. Teacher was not taking care of other children exhibiting very inappropriate behavior and I was done. Market Day is really neat and school has minimal fundraisers. I've never had an experience where a public school charged for books though, $78 per child. Also, field trips were frequent and can get expensive. There are plenty of different ways parents can help out. Overall decent experience, average public school.
