My son is attending Kindergarten at Concord Elementary this year, and he is having an awesome experience. He’s making friends, enjoys his teacher, and he’s coming home with books from the school library that he’s excited to have me read to him. The parent-teacher association holds numerous events for the Kindergarteners and parents to get to know one another. I’m very impressed with the learning opportunities and friendships being built at this school.

My daughter is in 5th grade this year and we have been at Concord since Kindergarten. Other than a recent start-time change, we have had an excellent experience. I was surprised to read that someone else had a bad experience with bullying. My daughter is very shy and this was a big concern for me. We have had a very opposite experience where the teachers and students seem to go out of their way to make sure everyone is included and often have speakers who come and talk to the kids about stopping bullying when they see it and recently had a 'Kindness Retreat.' We are very pleased with our choice to attend Edina Schools.

All three of my children (female & male) have had a wonderful experience at Concord. School should be for teaching and not babysitting. It is a public school system and they break up kids into three buckets; Extra needs for catching up, middle of the road to improve, and accelerated for those that would otherwise be bored. You cannot expect one teacher to personalize the learning experience for all 28 of her students in the class. This is an unattainable goal for the teacher and the student. I know that I don't have 28 people reporting to me at work. If I did, there is not enough time in the week to have one-on-one sessions with all of my employees, let alone get anything accomplished. We need to focus on roots of learning and education. We should not be worried about our school being better or worse than our neighboring schools. We should be worried about our children's education being less than our future competition from India, China, and other countries. Let's go back to what is important. Math, Science, Reading, Technology and Engineering to stay ahead of the real competition.

This school is perfectly fine, but it's really nothing special. Students are very inclusive and bullying IS a problem. I think it's also important to note that test scores aren't everything when choosing a school.

We are a low income family. This school is awesome with the help they offer families. This by far is better than mpls public school system where we came from.

This is a happy and supportive school. Super involved parents and an incredibly talented staff work hard to create a wonderful community. My kid has learned a ton and most importantly loves school. We are so grateful to be here.

There are a few great teachers but far too many who are just checking the box and doing the minimum. Most are teaching to the test with no regard for real learning or bored/unchallenged students. The playground is largely unsupervised. Students get bullied/ beat up on a regular basis with little or no consequence. One can drive by in any given day and observe the students who have placed themselves far from the school, close to the road, out of site of the 'supervisors'. Other schools in the district have quite well supervised playgrounds.

The principal here is just plain awesome! He really cares about the kids. The teachers are top notch. Our third grade teacher was the best! She made learning fun and she wants to be there. Parent involvement is over the top. Parents go above and beyond to help out.
