The teachers at this school are not effective they only care about cashing their checks as soon as they get tenure. The students suffer because of this and have to deal with the consequences of the greed not only of the teachers but of the district as well.

Overall I now understand why enrollment is declining. My children have gone to Duarte schools since Kindergarten, and I have never seen such lack of communication until this year at DHS. Teachers do not want to work with me as a parent.

Duarte High School has so much to offer our teenagers. The staff is committed to providing excellent programs. The high school has a wide variety of both academic and extracurricular programs, including partnerships with City of Hope and Citrus College. Duarte High also has a college preparatory program, and provides laptops for all of its students. The teachers and administration’s main objective is to prepare students for a college education and beyond. An excellent education is there for the taking. It has been a very positive experience for my son.

If your child is a diligent student, Duarte High School is an excellent school with great programs and enthusiastic teachers. They have an excellent science program, and numerous extracurricular activities. If your child is less than diligent, or apathetic, then DHS is not the place for you. The lower level classes are overfull and teachers have a hard time working with those students. Regardles, with few exceptions, staff and teachers don't respond unless you show up at school requesting a meeting. The parents who participate give 110%. The PTSA has been improving in recent years, and there are always parents who attend games and events. However, the percentage of parents who actually help out is exceedingly low.

I could not be more pleased with the Teachers & Administrators at Duarte High School. Our Son is receiving a quality education. We are very involved parents and are hoping that more parents step up to the plate. It takes a village. Parental presents really makes a different at all grade levels. Please join your PTA's/PTSA s and School Site Councils when given the opportunity.

The early college program is terrific! The staff and the instructors a very attentive to the students needs. This school is a hidden gem. Dont be fooled, the Administration has done a great job to make the environment one focused on education.. good work!
