This School I would Say is a good school 7/10. Really good special ed teachers accommodate students 'IEPs really well. There is some bullying. Family engagement is a 10/10 they inform parents what is going on. And this a really great school.

Our three children love attending to school here. They are challenged to reach their persons best academically and socially. The middle school offers a wide variety of electives including culinary arts, yearbook and band. Having students on the same campus for elementary creates a family atmosphere where the students are truly known and cared for by staff. Teachers are highly qualified and do a fantastic job communicating with parents.

I am a physician and executive that actually took my daughter out of a local private school and brought her to Royal Oaks in the 6th grade. All of the teachers were fabulous and worked with my daughter not only the academic side, but helped her to become more organized and focused. I feel as if she learned 10Xs more at Royal Oaks than her private school education. I could not recommend this school more. It is a true jewel.

Poor by administration measures. High potential by the teacher measures. Outstanding by the students and parents who are coming from all over the greater LA basin to attend CSArts. To build an effective and thriving community, the staff and families deserve much, much better from Royal Oaks (and the DUSD as a whole).

I have been very pleased with my experience at Royal Oaks. As parents, one of our #1 priorities is our child's safety and ensuring that they excel academically. I could personally say that I know my daughter is in good hands at Royal Oaks. My daughter had been going to a private Catholic School for pre-k and I had pulled her out of the school to attend Kindergarten at Royal Oaks. I was a little nervous about my decision at the time. We continued to see her friends from the private school through Girl Scouts. It wasn't until one day the girls were doing an activity that we saw that my daughter already knew how to read and actually enjoyed it in comparison to the other girls. One of the moms was a little surprised. At that moment I knew I had made the right decision. My daughter was going to a school she enjoyed, she was excelling academically, and I was saving over $500 a month of paying tuition fees at the private school. The two teachers that I couldn't thank enough are Mr. Armas and Mrs. Milano. They gave my daughter the right foundation in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

I am very pleased with the education my three children have received at Royal Oaks Elementary. The school offers excellent programs and has a dedicated staff. The principal, Mrs. Kolodinski, teachers and staff strive to provide a top-notch curriculum. Royal Oaks campus provides a safe and family oriented environment. They care about every student. It has been a very good and positive experience for my kids.My oldest son is now a sophomore at Duarte High School and my daughter is in 8th grade at Northview Intermediate School. They continue to receive a very good education in the Duarte Unified School District. The administration, teachers and staff’s main objective is to prepare Duarte students for a college education and beyond. They are dedicated to providing an excellent education.I think the partnership with Duarte Unified and the California School for the Arts will be a positive one. It is a nice addition to the existing partnership with City of Hope and Citrus College.

Royal Oaks is a WONDERFUL school! The proctors who welcome the kids in the morning are fantastic with the kids as well as the proctors who send them home at the carline! They are very caring! Miss Cherry, Miss Maria, Miss Gabby & Miss Turner are a few to mention. My son is a 2nd grader and has been here since kindergarten. He feels safe and at home at this school. My daughter attended this school as well and now is a senior at DHS. I myself is an alumni of Royal Oaks and would highly recommend this school! The principal is very approachable, she has lots of pride in her school. I see her out at the carline in the rain making sure the kids get in the car safely. She also listens to our concerns. She makes sure that the children are number one priority! At school the kids are safe and have the best education! The foundation for our son with Mr. Armas in kindergarten was second to none! Our son started reading in kindergarten and he continues to love reading!

We currently have our daughter at Royal Oaks, in 1st grade and our son went to Royal Oaks from K-6 and is now at the middle school. We have been happy with Royal Oaks in all the years we have been there. The one time we did have an issue it was immediately addressed and we were pleased with how it was handled. There are many wonderful and dedicated teachers at Royal Oaks and also a great PTA. I highly recommend Royal Oaks.

We love this school! We currently have a 3rd grader and 1st grader at Royal Oaks Elementary and have had a great experience so far. When we moved to Duarte (before having children), we weren't thinking very much about school districts, but liked the city (pretty, next to mountains, more affordable, lots of parks, bike trail, etc.). We were hesitant about Duarte schools when our oldest was starting elementary school, but when we toured Royal Oaks, we really liked what we saw. The principal is very dedicated and really cares for the students. The teachers are fantastic. The school campus is in a beautiful setting. We decided to give Duarte schools a chance and we are so glad we did! We even decided to buy a house in Duarte after seeing how great this school was. Our boys love going to school at RO and are learning so much. Also, we are very excited about RO becoming a K-8 school and the partnership the district has with the California School of the Arts. There are some really exciting things happening in this district and we are thankful to be a part of it.

The principal, Mrs. Kolidinski, is not someone who will listen to parents concerns. I had a very tough time getting her to listen to child's needs. I had a very rough time getting her to see what I as a parent see the struggles my child was having with a teacher. It took many distraught days until changes were made.

I can tell you that the Principal is truly awsome! Mrs Kolodinski. She puts her heart & soul in this school, and she will go out of her way to make sure parents are completely comfortable and aware of everything going on on-campus. I had concerns a few times, & the way she handled the situation was commendable. I want to Thank her for being such a dedicated principal. As for teachers, Mr. Armas, Mrs. Mittman, Mrs. Covert are Super amazing passionate teachers!!!

Hi, I need advice for this school. I'm highly considering this school because of the early start. Early drop off is ideal for me. My son will be in kindergarten. I read all the feedback and all sounds great. I guess I just need reassuring. Help? I will be a transfer school our home school is Hodge but they don't have the early drop off or the thing together program for the Kindergartners.

I love the principal and office staff! As a transfer, I was worried that there would be problems in registering, but they handled everything and were very gracious. The principal is friendly and approachable. Every time I am there I see her walking around talking to students, parents, or staff. My son loves going to school and his reading has improved dramatically in just this last month at this school. I would recommend the school to everyone!
