Next year we will have 3 kids at Colfax Elementary and our experience so far has been wonderful. Colfax seems to have their priorities straight when it comes to both education and the development of children. First and foremost, the students absolutely love the teachers and staff with how caring and involved they are. Colfax believes in restorative practices and development of growth mindsets that prioritize personal growth over punishment and discipline. Their math program is fantastic and we have met students at all age levels that are loving and thriving in it! We can’t speak highly enough about this school and hope everyone considers this as a place to choice into! Also, be cautious of sites like this that trash a school based on very misleading stats and measures. Setup a tour at Colfax and see for yourself the positive things they are doing firsthand.

We love Colfax Elementary! I had 2 kids complete kindergarten through 5th grade there, who continue to excel in middle and high school thanks to the foundations taught at Colfax. Currently, I have kids in ECE and 1st grade at Colfax. The level of education is exceptional. The teachers are heavily invested and care about the whole child experience. The rest of the staff is top notch, caring for my kids like their own. But my favorite part of Colfax is the community, a strong sense of belonging as soon as you walk up to the school.

My son loves his school. Very close knit, teachers and staff are very helpful. Miss Carmen is amazing. The secretaries are knowledgeable and friendly. Staff also has children attending there, so I feel safe leaving him everyday knowing the entire school works together for the children. His math class has challenged him. He's learning a lot and he's happy. I have not one bad thing to say about this school. You would be pleasantly surprised by this school and their staff.

However my daughter shirley an my son bobby really excelled at all levels an was really surprised to see the one on one interaction with the teachers an with my son being his first year head start ..i seen yhe low school grade 3 out of 10...to me the school is where our kids learn an thats it .If parents think its a daycare thats where the mistake is hopefully this year i see more parents taking time to eat lunch an interact with there kids an school ..

This school is aweful!!!! I ended up having to pull her out of the school. My daughter who could not wait to start kinder, who loves going anywhere w/ other kids would hold onto my jacket screaming &crying because she hated this school so much all the kids were mean to her they wouldn't play with her she learned NOTHING no communication what so ever between the school and the parents. It was a horrible experience luckily I got her into a great school now and she is learning and loves it, its crazy the difference in schools from one to the other in Denver.

As a parent i am very satisfied with this school. My kids excelled at this school and continue to do so. Mrs. Martinez was a great principle and will be missed:( Great communication, parents are treated with respect. Stay involved with your children this is in every school Blam is not always the teachers!

I was pleased with this school up until last year...I am disappointed with things that have taken place at this school...I would like to remind a few teachers that best way to advertise your school is through word of mouth. Although there are some really good teachers, there are some that do not know how to relate to the children that they teach/neighborhood that they are in everyday.

Colfax Tigers are slowly but surely climbing up the education ladder, and no one can stop us. As the parent of a young soon to be second grade tiger cub I am so excited about the up-coming school year. We will have an amazing teacher this year because the entire staff is amazing, hard working, and genuinely care about everyone. Like every school out there its not perfect, and much work is still needed to compete. In the future Colax will be a model for other schools around the community . I love Colfax for my daughter, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. I tell everyone I know that this school is the place to be for a great education pre- k to 5th grade.
