They have been giving me problems since the start of the school year. I’m a single parent and don’t have a family to help me out. My family has requested unique help and support and been denied assistance because it’s against “school policy”. Never have I ever had a public school be so discriminating against a single parent household and a colored child! My family is low income and even with low income aid I still can’t afford their overpriced after school program and they don’t even gave a before school program to support single parents families who need to be at work before 7:00 am.

My child currently attends Hyde Park and is extremely happy. She is held to a high standard of curriculum and learning. The teachers, new principal and staff genuinely care about the students. I'm not sure what the review claiming they take tools away is considering students who are struggling are given extra help in small group or individually. The teachers provide extra learning chances through computer programs sent home the kid can do at home. Great school!!

This School has failed the Children .. teacher bullying is a problem . When Children are not dont meet their standards they take away the tools that are needed to help the students .. For example a student that is having a hard time with reading , or writing is not allowed to attend the library. A child that has a question regarding one of many computer programs is not awnsered becuase it requires to much time to explain. And a child that has hard time communicating is ignored. I have personal experience with this at Hyde Park, Once parents have spoken with teachers and principle .. they are told everything they want to hear .. but nothing is changed. The Student to teacher ratio is way to high.. day cares for example are required to have 4 to 1 ratio why is the school not help to similiar standards .. the children are bing lost in the crowds , teachers speak to everyone and not to the individual students. This School has failed its students!

Mabank has issues with leadership. Some of the teachers and the principals seem to have trouble communicating with parents and I don't see how that communicate effectively with students. Students are expected to be robots and not children. Students are not allowed to defend themselves even after reporting a bully. I'll be so glad when my kids are out of this district. Not a great school. They care more about test than the children they are teaching. Not good. They swap principals and teachers within the district constantly so when a child thinks ...oh good I don't ever have to have that teacher again... they are shocked because the teacher has moved up and they have to have the teacher all over again. It's just very strange. I don't think the new principal will be all that great she wasn't that effective at southside. Disappointed because I was hoping not to deal with her again.

My child currently attends Hyde Park. This is a great school. Children are held to high educational and behavioral standards. If the child is not able to reach those standards they are given the extra help they need, not just given up on. I greatly appreciate all the teachers and staff. They really seem to care about the children and their futures. Check out Hyde Park area if u are moving to Denison. Great homes in this school district too.
